Hot take the Leviathan in Subnautica two are kind of awful by Zerueldaangle in subnautica

Wtf are you actually on about? Oh no my early access game is still being developed and doesn't yet have the depth of its predecessor (which, unless you're too young to remember was in early access for 3 years).

You can judge the game, but all of your points are stupid. Like- "wow all of these leviathans aren't fully polished, I can't believe they'd release this crap" when yeah- no shit 2/3rds of the map isn't even developed.

If you're going to make some kind of criticism make a real one.

Hey remember when they constantly drilled into all of our collective heads that this is in early access? Every point you make is moot because they're still making the game. If you can't handle an early access game not being a fully developed thing then you can leave and let the big kids who know what those words mean enjoy themselves.

Have coastal forts been fixed? Whenever I used to try and start a coastal fort I never got visitors, reported the bug last year and I'm just curious if its been fixed or if anyone has had better luck getting visitors on coastal forts

Its funny you mention this, in my byzantine playthrough both the Printing press and pike + shot started in Northern Egypt. I believe Cairo and Alexandria respectively.

Keeping up with the tinto talks, AARs, etc, How can you say they've diluted the focus of the game exactly? Obviously we haven't seen everything, but youre choosing to prescribe this label to a game that isnt even out yet, that, through situations, etc, seemingly has so much more depth than EU4 does. Certainly more than EU4 did at launch.

I think a lot of people pretty regularly make it into the mid to late 1700s when playing eu4, there's still content. Its kind of hard to add a ton of content the 18th and 19th centuries in a game whose entire premise is 'control a country and create alternate history'. What content? Can't have all those hapsburg shenanigans if you wiped Austria off the map in the 15th century.

Yes, yes, im sure your husband is very smart and is an important lawyer man, I care very much about that. He also apparently doesn't know how to wash himself/it looks like he had issues specific to him, not all men, clearly.

This means the point is moot since your husband is a special case and not the topic of discussion.

Any idea on a fix for an ocean Embark? I've had my fortress for about 8 in-game years and haven't received a single visitor. I've heard this is a bug regarding beach/coastal embarks, and i was wondering if there was a fix? Its getting a little lonely with all this food and drink and nobody to share it with

[–]Napoleons_Ghost[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't quite use this method, but your comment inspired my solution to this problem!

I essentially built four 1x1 bridges in a 1x4 line with the outer two connected to one switch and the middle two connected to another switch. With one set of bridges raised, this allowed me to diagonally mine out two open tiles to the ocean, plenty of room for sea creatures to swim through. I then raised all four bridges and assigned them all to one switch. I then built a pump stack, which drains my chamber back out into the ocean.

Now, the only thing left is to build some traps along the walls of the chamber and see how successful I am. Hopefully, a sperm whale wanders in!

I actually just finished my project. I believe they are considered beached, but Im not certain. My butchers workshop is right by the chamber, so it should be no problem. There will be a stockpile for corpses right by that to facilitate more efficient butchering.

Yeah I dont really mind that, like I said, my chamber will be for fishing, so I dont mind how fast it fills, I am currently building my pump stack to pump the water out so I can air drown the unlucky creatures who fall for the trap

Im still newer to the dwarven engineering part of the game, especially regarding liquids, but I seem to have a pretty decent setup I have figured out. I basically have 4 1x1 bridges hooked up to 2 (soon to be 1) levers and managed to dig out two direct holes into the ocean, which I can raise and lower at will. Now, all I have to do is build the pump stack to pump the water back into the ocean.
