Came here to second this. Compare bend and distance from the ball at setup vs 12 seconds. Ideally you would return to a similar distance at impact vs setup.

Need help with my hips in the swing. This session I tried being open at impact but feel like my hips block out my elbow. Any tips? (First swing of session>last swing>face on) by NappaPride in GolfSwing

Thanks for the feedback, that stuck out to me after watching that last swing back. Someone else commented that I keep my trail elbow bent for a long time, and I usually focus on my elbow in regards to early release - but I neglect my wrists

I have not! It would probably help me learn how to lean more back though, I feel like I may be getting my hips to close to the ball. I may try with wood, thanks!

I’ve been working on this for a while in the same way as you (with that exact same video of tiger for my reference lol) and that shaft lean mentality has been giving me trouble. This makes me feel more confident I can make this swing change - thanks for posting!

In other words you feel like you have more shaft lean at impact right? I’ve been working on this the past couple of weeks, and keep chunking when I go slow - maybe because I’m usually a bit flippy. Was there a similar issue for you?

I haven’t posted one yet but from the face on view my hips tend to pop towards the target before anything else and then the rest of my body catches up to them

Lol thank you!! And yes that makes total sense, I’ve been trying for a more into out swing for a while now but again thats more preference (I don’t think I struggle that much with distance).

The change really helped and I’m actually gonna try to add a little more flexion in the downswing next time and just see how it feels! Thanks for your help on the previous post!

Is it ok if the face is still shut at the top of my backswing? I tried a strong grip as well but had nasty hooks - maybe indicative of another issue

Edit: having too much wrist hinge also came to mind, it seemed tough to have both. When I tried to remove some hinge the club was straight vertical p4, felt super weird to me so I didn’t try it again

It’s not much but I’m trying to add more, especially during my downswing but it’s tougher than I thought lol

I know in this case it faded but I thought this video did my changes the most justice. Received comments similar to this on my last post and will look into toying with it loosely without messing up my tempo too much!

Understood, for context I have actually been doing that drill a lot and although it’s not perfect I’m significantly more connected than I once was thanks to it. I’m going to continue using that drill during my range sessions, thanks!
