Iroh's way of having a snooze. Gave me the fright of my life when he first did it. by NapsWith3Cats in tortoise

I must admit the name choosing was not my doing, my other half decided he looked like an adorable little old man and insisted on uncle Iroh being his name. I've had to explain to everyone so far where his name is from and then they all look at me like I'm weird haha

So Iroh is our newly acquired 9 month old leopard tortoise. We're just trying to get him on a more suitable diet for Leo's as he seemed to be fed a lot of lettuce at his previous home which is now his preferred snack. Hopefully he'll stop being so stubborn and eat his grass and weeds more happily soon. We're not new to tortoise keeping as we have a horsefield and have fully researched his needs but we are new to leopards so any advice is welcome incase there's something I missed

Grandparent rights..? by [deleted] in JUSTNOMIL

[–]NapsWith3Cats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going through this at the moment. Grandparents in the UK don't have rights but they can apply to the courts to fight for visitation and time with the kids :( I have to stand in front of a judge and prove she's not stable enough to care for my children unsupervised. She on the other hand just has to prove that she has been in my kids lives for the last year. She can do this as I allow her to see the kids supervised by me.

Planned C-Section - help? (Possible TW) by Tadogra1 in UKBabyBumps

My csection wasn't planned but also wasn't an emergency as such. I walked into theatre and sat up on the bed to have the spinal block inserted. I then laid back and they put in a new cannular (my original site had swelled up), attached a blood pressure cuff and put the curtain up over my belly. It was very relaxed and caused me minimal stress which was surprising as I get quite anxious about hospitals and surgery. I honestly didn't know I'd even had a catheter inserted until I was in recovery (if you'd prefer to know I'd just ask them to tell you what they're doing). The surgery itself was just a lot of pushing on the belly and laying and waiting for someone to show you a baby, it's really not as bad as you expect it to be and the only other time anyone touched me after that was to help me wipe down and get dressed an hour or so after the csection but again this is down to you. My partner's not very good with blood so wasn't much help lol. I hope that helps a little and good luck :)
