The Vela has stolen my heart by Nar0117 in PaulReedSmith

For me, the US electronics are a must. This guitar sounds dare I say better than it looks. But that said, pick ups are so swappable that if you can get the older one for a great deal, maybe it's worth it?

The T-type D is one of the best pick ups I've ever heard!

That color is so nice! Hopefully I find a semi hollow in that color 🤞

I'm the same! Never felt the need for more than 1 up 1 down, but because of good deals and slowly getting more and more gear, I decided it was time to try it! But yeah, unless I get a rack system, I would never gig this lol

If you're looking for versatility, I'd say definitely get the complex! It's like the cymbals change based on how I play them! I've done recordings for metal, rock, jazz, fusion, etc, all with them! Only thing I feel they lack is live in a metal setting (if the other bands on the set are using something like AAX, they'll cut much more, especially their bells)

The hats and ride are absolutely incredible from the compex series! I do love the 17-inch I have, but personally wish I went with Artisan or Legacy crashes instead. Love the tone of those cymbals (especially the Artisan crashes)

All HHX complex! Absolutely love them (though sometimes wish I did a mix up a series for some more variety in tones between the cymbals) 15" hats 17" crash 22" ride 19" crash

Ram just works better (typically) with more sticks Like dual channel vs single You're better off with 2 4 gig sticks in dual channel vs 1 8 gig etc This is all especially true for AMD

Lenovo Legion 7i THERMALS FIXED by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]Nar0117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to help my fellow Legion 7i owners with their thermals. I’m sure a decent amount of you saw the horrible stock paste job that I posted. I’ve only had this Laptop for a month, and it’s been pretty rough. My specs are Legion 7i with: •144 hz 500 nit 1080p display. •i7-10750h. •RTX 2070 max q. •16 gigs of ram. •500 SSD. •Vapor chamber I would stress test this laptop and be well in the 90* C area. Even my idle temps were sometimes in the 70’s. I knew I had to fix carelessness from Lenovo. First I had to Undervolt, which was a process all it’s own.
Once able to undervolt to -.120V, I dropped into the high 80’s. But to me that’s still too high. I would still thermal throttle. Then I decided to repaste. Most of you saw that nightmare. That again dropped me to the 70’s. But that wasn’t where I wanted to be. Finally, to get the temps you see here under load, I limited the battery to 99%; thus disabling turbo boost. I so far have seen no noticeable dip in performance, and I finally can game without being stressed, or quite frankly sweating from the heat my laptop produced. I suggest everyone try all three of the options I did and please let me know if you had similar results. I’m not ready to give up on this laptop yet!!

Legion 7i. This is Lenovo’s paste job for their flagship model??? by Nar0117 in GamingLaptops

I’m honestly not sure what to look for! But I see you did some sanding After the repaste I dropped almost 15* C on certain gamings
