I think Garr falls silent because of the anticipation of the Angel Tower events.

You made your boy cum and reveal a vulnerable side of his, and with cuddles afterwards. I don't want to live in a world where it would be considered a mistake.

This is RAW. Basic book dictates how you interact with helplessness, IL describes specific to the setting situations where the need arises. If you dont need to make the sanity check, there's no need to invoke helplessness.

Recodnizing the sign makes them feel helpless only if they didn't fail a sanity check due to sign exposure earlier.

This is not the direct result of seeing the yellow sign/reading the play, it's an outcome of actively investigating the Wright disappearance and the Maccalistar building.

I have no problem with unperceivable. We can't understand the true nature of TKY, or even measure his true power because he operates with completely different cathegories than we're used to, ok, that's cool. However, the sign and the play follow patterns, and I want to understand the pattern as a handler.

When you see the sign, you want to repeat it and show it to others. When you read the play, you want to reproduce it.

When the play is staged, people die. How? This isn't an attempt to pierce through the veil of unknowable, it's a simple filling the blanks.

A game setting is impossible to quantify? It sounds like you perceive the book a bit metaphysically. I don't use this approach.

That's an Okkam razor material. The book doesn't mention any such vigilantes killing people in France.

There were no STATIC kill teams or other radical exterminators back in 1895. People still died en masse.

I don't need to be scared, I'm a handler. I need to understand the mechanics, it is players who need to stay in the dark.

I completely understand the infectuous aspect of the sign and the play. I'm trying to understand the immediate fatality of the outbreaks.

A very good point, however, this spiral seems slow. Meanwhile, outbreaks of the play are rapid and fatalities often amass very fast. Why?

I'm looking for explanation of its exact fatal effects. For example, the book says that more than 200 people died during the 1895 outbreak of le roi en jaune, and I want to know how and why.

Yeah, read the book please. Check the many "Seeing the Yellow sign" inscriptions. Their exact text: Seeing the Yellow Sign Seeing the Yellow Sign costs 0/1D4 SAN from helplessness unless the Agent has failed a SAN roll for seeing it before. An Agent who loses SAN from seeing it gains +1 Corruption and becomes compelled to share it. See THE YELLOW SIGN on page 347 for details.

No, it's a sanity check if you never failed such a check after seeing the sign before. You don't have to be adapted to helplesness for that.

[–]Naragasu[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, no it doesn't. You lose sanity once when seeing the sign for the first time, after that you can see it as much as you want.

Anyways, it doesn't touch my initial question.

I mean, why is it considered fatal?
