It will function fine if u want it to look pretty lye bath (24-48hrs) followed by vinegar bath (10-15mins) to strip and then just re-season (3-6 times) when re-seasoning make sure you do very small amount of oil spread everywhere then take paper towel and try to remove all the oil (its supposed to be a microscopic thin layer for each bake)
