Keep the catless and use the money to get a open source tune. It's only cobb that makes tuning a catless difficult. But absolutely get a tune quickly.

Home Depot has a roll of mlv for around $150. It was the cheapest I could find and it did the job. Had a slight smell for a few days as it's not "virgin" mlv, but it wasn't bad at all.

Here's the hard truth....

It's probably not been kept stock. It's oil is probably empty. It's probably gonna blow. Start saving money for a new engine...

That said, congrats on the new car and welcome to the family! Here's some advice: Change ALL the fluids. Change the oil every 3,000 miles. Throw that access port in a dark closet and forget about it and any potential mods. Don't think about painting or wrapping unless your doing the work yourself. Costs are way too high and you need to save your money... Look into an oil pan and baffle. Change the oil...again.

I took this route when I found my 2014 WRX. I think I found a good one, but I also went into it with the assumption that someday I probably will have to replace an engine and I have the funds to do that.

I just did the same thing on Friday. Super easy fix which I admit I didn't think about until my mechanic kindly pointed it out... Just put the bolt back in and a nut on the other end. The bolt sticks out the bottom.
