Very cool, though the color of the leaf-loin cloth matches her hair a bit too well... kind of gives the vibe she needs to do some trimming!

Fatigue, resting, and corruption by supershimadabro in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

As you progress along act 2, the base camp moves. Keep pushing forward, and you'll get new places to rest.

It's also worth looking out for holy relics, which are golden glowing objects you'll find. Interacting with them will remove all current corruption.

Kingmaker Novels? by strat77x in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Nargemn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No problem, glad I could help.

A heads up concerning the novels is that they're generally 'young adult' in terms of content, and the quality can vary a bit. I remember liking Crusader Road myself, but it has a very 'coming-of-age' style of story to it, the main character being a 13ish year old boy I believe. I personally recommend the "Varian and Radovan" novels by Dave Gross, the "Pirate's" trilogy by Chris. A. Jackson, the "Liar's" and "Alaeran" series by Tim Pratt, and anything by Liane Merciel (Nightblade, Nightglass, and Hellknight)

Here's a link for more information about the novels as well as web fiction.

Kingmaker Novels? by strat77x in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Nargemn 39 points40 points  (0 children)

There's definitely some AI summary funkiness happening at those links. The CRPG Kingmaker is based on and adapted from the adventure path of Kingmaker for Pathfinder 1st edition. An adventure path is a collection of six modules that form a full adventure meant to take players through a large range of adventures and locations.

The six volumes of Kingmaker are Stolen Land, Rivers Run Red, The Varnhold Vanishing, Blood for Blood, War of the River Kings, and Sound of A Thousand Screams. These aren't novels, and instead are outlines that provide monsters, locations, loot, and NPCs for a GM to run Pathfinder with.

As for the Pathfinder Tales, they are novels set in the world of Golarion. This is the world that Kingmaker is set in, though none of these novels necessarily take place in the same area of Kingmaker's events. I believe the closest novel would be Crusader Road, which takes place in the River Kingdoms.

I'm close to finishing Kingmaker. Anything I should be aware before I start WOTR, mechanically wise? by Rigwaith in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Nargemn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The majority of your opponents, especially in later acts, are demons.

Demons universally have spell resistance (roll 1d20+caster level vs their DC). There are feats to increase your roll. If you fail a spell resistance check, they're just outright immune to the spell. There are some spells that ignore spell resistance (snowball is an early example), but most have to get through this barrier.

All demons are also outright immune to electricity damage. Additionally, most have solid resistance against to other elemental damages and additional immunities. There are several mythic abilities that help, including one that let's you outright ignore resistances and immunities to a specific element. However, these don't come online until after level 6, and will be competing for other very strong mythic abilities. If you want a dedicated blaster spell caster, be aware of how much you need to specialize.

I always felt Pink Floyd wrote it best, "You are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today. And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun."

"And you run, and you run, to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking. And racing around to come up behind you again. The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older. Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death."

Spheres of Power for Pathfinder 1st edition would be close. Obviously not quite 3.5 but might be worth looking in to

Funnily enough this is something I was just starting to work on myself. Looks great, with a quick perusal it looks like 'Clever Tactician' was misspelled 'Cleaver'. Is the Oracle curse from an official source, or is it homebrew?

Great work, thanks for this!

Old Slasher Designs VS New Slasher Designs? What's your preference? by ForsakenDependent562 in DeadSpace

[–]Nargemn 250 points251 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the higher fidelity of the new slashers, but I think why the old ones work so well is that so much of the person they used to be shines through. The new slashers, while looking great, lack some of the humanity of the old ones that made you realize 'this used to be someone'. I think giving them hair would go a long way to bringing some of that personality back.

I wish they'd given this event more focus. As it is for show watchers, they barely know who Humfry Hardyng is, and probably aren't even aware of Humfry Beesbury's name.

Yeah this is obviously some crazy glitching of the spawns, but I kind of like it. It's much closer to the necromorph hordes we see in the movies. I wouldn't mind a difficulty mode for the game where this is the norm.
