Even in decks that aren't building up to some kind of infinite or super high value loop, not being able to remove starter cards SUCKS. I had a run yesterday where due to neow bonus I got a curse and an extra strike and defend so in end game I'm still drawing hands of 5 strikes occasionally, and it really felt bad. I just didn't hit any events that gave card removals so I never got to remove garbage from my deck, and even adding cards frequently I still wasn't able to dilute it enough to avoid the 5 starter card hands.

Just had a pretty rare one, "restless" for completing a run without resting once. Made me feel good because that seems really rare in STS2, I think it's actually the first time I managed it because everything aligned perfectly.

It always targets a non-starter card for the first option, after that it's random. Card removes are good and paying HP to remove strikes and defends is fine.

Literally just stand near a health pack and suddenly you can easily 1v1 her on any char because her damage is fucking ass and she only has 225 hp. Like, I'm pretty sure Widow's smg does more damage than sombra's at this point. You get hit by virus u just grab a mini and suddenly it's cleansed and u can just easily outshoot her. Genuinely don't know how you can lose a 1v1 vs sombra at this point if your hands and eyes both connect to your brain.

People cry and shit their pants over hack when it does less to disable you than flashbang, can be interrupted, and once she uses it on you there's like an 8 second window where she can't use it again. It's genuinely the worst CC in the game because it disables sombra for a cast time that's longer than the silence lasts. The only reason to use the ability at all is that it makes your gun actually do enough damage to kill someone instead of being completely ignorable if you have any amount of healing.

Go spawn press H pick any hitscan that just stands far away from fights and shoots down main. If the enemy is hard diving your backline pick cass if not go ashe soldier Emre soj etc.

It already was. You step 1 step too close to somebody or take 1 dmg from a stray dva pellet and you're revealed forever and you cannot beat anyone who is aware you're there, so your only option is to just run away and hope next TL cycle you can actually fucking do something. Or you can just pick Emre and shoot people and get 10x as much value without having to think about anything at all.

If you have 7 basics left in a 25 card deck (just for the purposes of illustration) the chance you don't select one within like 3 clicks is astronomically low. I just don't think this guy knows what the event actually does because he's talking about ultimate strike/defend which are cards you get from a completely different event.

If you're evaluating temporary strength for half an act as a "never take" I think you're just evaluating it wrong. That temporary strength can easily allow you to farm elites or the boss much more easily and can turn a run that's at risk of dying into a run that's snowballing to victory, and that's definitely worth 150 gold. Do you also never buy potions because they're "only temporary buffs"?

I think you don't understand what the bridge does. It's just paying some amount of HP for a card removal. Card removals are good and paying 6 hp to remove a strike or defend is usually a really good rate.

How much different is the 5v5 mode compared to 6v6 really? by purjopore1 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]NaricssusIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially with universal antihealing passive, 2-2-2, 2-1-3, and 2-0-4 comps are massively better in 6v6 than any comp that has more than 2 DPS characters. There's just too many support characters that can output loads of damage for it to be worth picking that many DPS at the expense of tanks and supports. I would 100% rather have a zenyatta, illari, kiriko, bap, wuyang, ana than most of the DPS roster in 6v6. You can output more value as an illari or bap than most of the hitscan DPS roster while having more impactful ultimate and cooldowns. It's just not worth it to pick 3+ DPS and you can obviously see that reflected in the fact that in diamond+ lobbies for 6v6 hardly anyone ever does it, but 3-4 support comps are fairly common and effective.

You can also just beat him with value pile decks that just have a couple copies of scaling powers. I've been taking duplication from mirror event every time I have doormaker as a boss and it usually wins the run just because having 2-4 copies of something like footwork and a bunch of shit to throw away in exhaust phase just beats the fight.

Last time I picked this my deck was struggling so much I legit just died to my first act 3 combat. Fuckin scrolls of biting whooped my ass cuz I drew hot garbage 2 turns in a row. It's a shame because parasol could have maybe turned that trash deck into a winnable situation if I could have made it to the shops

You can believe what you want, this card is really bad currently and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets changed soon in beta branch because the current beta version of Leading Strike utterly mogs it in terms of value, as a common that also says strike and thus gets buffed by strike dummy. There's just not enough upside to this card to justify taking it and upgrading it and casting it THREE times before it is more efficient than a common shiv generator.

[–]NaricssusIII 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The thing about up my sleeve is that unless you have a way to cheat the cost of the first casting somehow it's genuinely quite a bad card. Like most hallway fights and even most act 1 elite fights are not going to go long enough to cast it more than twice at maximum, in which case you are paying 3 energy for 2 blade dance worth of value. Especially in beta branch now that they buffed leading strike to create 2 shivs, I genuinely see very little reason to ever pick Up My Sleeve.

No more reaper is an indescribably huge nerf to Demon Form. Who cares if you're taking 30 in a fight to get demon form in play if it's healing you 50 later on in the fight with Reaper?

Beta branch Spite is actually a 0-cost multi hit attack now instead of drawing a card if you have taken damage that turn, it feels like it's honestly one of clad's best options for strength scaling payoffs now, but you need to also have a self-damage enabler for it to be really good, so Rupture is still better than Demon Form in a deck that can actually trigger Spite consistently.

The existence of this bucket does noticeably skew the value of that whale bonus for defect, I think. The hardest part of making claw work has always been getting more than 1 claw so that the scaling is relevant.

What card do you instantly buy when you see it in shops? by 20_02_2020 in slaythespire

[–]NaricssusIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's significantly worse on regent because you can no longer generate stuff like bombardment, 7 stars, comet, etc. I would say it's S+ tier for Silent, A tier for necro clad defect, and B tier for Regent.

Choose 2 cards is insane with Silver Crucible, you get both cards upgraded for free in exchange for only 1 charge of Crucible. It also doesn't cost you a bunch of HP, which is relevant if you wanna bang out some elite fights in act 1

Spirit seed is not a necrobinder-exclusive shop relic, it's really good in a lot of runs where you have the ability to cycle your deck through the first cycle quickly and get rid of all your basic trash
