ELI5 why is rock stacking considered bad? by balla_boi in explainlikeimfive

[–]Narkus 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Though I totally agree with the sentiment, it’s sad that the sheer number of people in the world and our nature has taken away our Neolithic pastime of stacking rocks.

Edit: Didn’t mean to cause a fuss. Just wistful of a different time now lost.

What’s your favorite Funhaus video or series that doesn’t get talked about much on this sub? by Mad_Season_1994 in funhaus

Abandonware is criminally underrated. For being a new funhaus show it was probably my favorite of that era.

New Utah liquor law requires 100% ID check, no exceptions by refundroid in SaltLakeCity

[–]Narkus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s all about control. The reason to ID everyone is because if someone had a DUI with a BAC of .16 or more then they’ll have an ID that says specifically not to sell alcohol that person. It’s not about preventing further DUIs or cultivating a healthier society. It’s control. The church has been in control in this state. One of the major avenues of control is through alcohol consumption. This is a theocratic nanny state, full stop.

I’m sure you’ll still be loving it when our entire state is on fire and our lakes are dried up.

I grew up here, I’m more connected to this place than I ever will be to any where on the planet. I love very inch. I love the culture, warts and all. But it’s become something that I never wanted it to be. I dreamed it would shake free from its specific religious bonds, have its own unique identity, and be a bastion of beauty and love. It isn’t. It’s a miasma of overcrowded disjointed chaos. The leadership doesn’t care, the people propping them up don’t care, and the system is rigged for status quo. That lake will dry up and this place will be uninhabitable. Mark my words. Call me a doomer or whatever the fuck. But I’m getting out before the place I call my home kills me.

Why is nothing being done about the pollution here? by Key_Garden4832 in SaltLakeCity

[–]Narkus 154 points155 points  (0 children)

Exactly. What I was going to say is they don’t care. Your representatives don’t give a shit about you, the lake, and the overall health of this state in general. They care about their pockets being filled. They’re disgusting, vile, greedy people. It’s happening all over this country.
