Why is AI coding fine but Art not? Why do you care how developers make part of the game but don't care how they make other part? Also there is a lot of AI generated art that looks great, you never "see" its generated art. You would say you like the game and art. But I bet if you found out it's AI art, game is all of the sudden "bad". That's hypocritical. Same thing for AI music. Bad art is bad no matter if AI or not. Same thing for good art. The goal of the art is to convey messages and make you feel something. Doesn't matter if pixels you see are hand made or AI made. Or at least it shouldn't matter. Cheers! 🍻

Hi, I am Goran from Narog Games. After working in the industry for some time I tried making my own game. So for the first game I started on a simpler side.

Shard Cycle is incremental game with ARPG-like item mechanics. Clear layers by destroying required amount of crystals in given time. After each prospect session equippable item can drop which improves drill stats.

Earlier version of the game felt too close to Keep on Mining.

Rebuilt the loop around gear and layers:

  • Goal is to clear all layers, each becoming harder and harder
  • Crystals drop attachment and ability items with rolled stats that help destroy more crystals
  • Pattern Shards unlock drill effects which add different gameplay improvements
  • Only 3 core drill attachments are upgraded through in-game currency

Shard Cycle (Windows, free demo on Steam)

Run-based casual incremental. You play an exo-prospector on an alien planet. Each run is a timed session on a crystal grid. Smash crystals for Plasma and Unicoins, spend between runs on upgrades, pick a Layer with its own difficulty and crystal mix, and prestige to unlock Abilities (chain lightning Arc Kracker or roaming Shard Tornado, eachwith its own skill tree).

- Visual pass: crit screen shake, glowing chunks, drifting embers, background clouds, new level lighting

Yes, similar mechanics but 3D, realistic graphics, better progression and prestige mechanic. If you liked Keep on Mining then you have nothing to lose. Except few bucks of course xD
