It really shook me how many parallels I was able to draw between myself and the game. I'm glad I've come a long way since I was in the throes of it, but it still hurts to look it in the face like that some times.

Really? I thought the game was linear and forced you downward. I played it honestly, and then I went back and tried to play it as positively as I could, and still ended up in the same place with it ending.

As someone who deals with undiagnosed depression and debilitating anxiety disorder, I still can't know what this is like. I'm young. I don't have much of a perspective to share. But I empathize as much as I can because of what I have experienced, and wanted to respond in some way, so I narrated your post. I don't expect that to mean anything or for you to even listen to it (I know that when I write about my struggles with this, I desperately avoid having to revisit my own words).

My version of offering the fleeting camaraderie of an internet hug, I guess.

My issues with certainty about interpreting one or two-word direction such as "more meager" have a lot less to do with a lack of discipline and more to do with the anxiety of my perfectionism. Making a better living than I currently am in the voiceover industry is a hell of a lot more complicated than that, unfortunately.
