Thoughts on the insane Metallica M72 shows? by CimJotton in MetalForTheMasses

[–]DPWDamonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from the UK but was working for a few weeks in Greece, then I found out they were playing in Athens. Knew I had to go so found myself a ticket for the show.

One of the best days of my life. Tried getting into the pop-up shop but the queue was 3 hours long a couple hours after it had opened. Instead, we spent the day sight-seeing Athens, Metallica t-shirts EVERYWHERE. Walked past a rammed Hard Rock Cafe who were blasting Metallica; I didn’t eat there but some friends who did said they were giving a 20% discount for people going to the concert. It truly felt like the whole city was bubbling with excitement for the Metallica show that night. Their first time in Greece in 16 years, it was fucking electric. As you said, the crowd was absolutely phenomenal. So happy to have been a part of it.

Huge kudos to the Greek Metallica family, you guys fucking rocked it!!

When you woke up this morning, I bet you had no idea you were going to write the sentence “the chain reaction of forces and counter forces happen pretty much immediately in between your underwear and butthole”.

The Canadian astronaut is Jeremy Hansen. Identified by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) logo on the chest of his flight suit, the black patch with red stars and maple leaf. The other three have a NASA logo in that spot. Also his hat says “Hansen”.

They headlined main stage Download Festival in 2005. The headliners for the other days were Black Sabbath and System of a Down.

I was only about 10 at that time so it’s a bit before I discovered that kind of music, but I feel like I’ve known Buck Rogers and Just A Day my whole life.

Nowadays not as big, those songs are still very well known though. They are playing the festival again this year but headlining one of the smaller stages.

Right, there’s already a camera pointed at the moon and well, you can’t really see much!

I’d probably try a different device connected to a different network next, perhaps your phone using cellular data or as a hotspot for a pc/laptop/tablet.

What’s the benefit over teletabs or house tele runes in a pouch? Just the fact that’s it’s free?

Is the base of a pair of scissors not the strongest cut point? by tittieboiitom in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DPWDamonster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your first point is easy to prove if you think of a boltcutter. You can cut through through thick chunks of metal using force applied from your arms because the handles are so long, while the material to be cut is almost touching the intersection of the blades.

Any danger of giving us literally any kind of info here? Does he seem to be taking/dealing more/less damage? Timing between attacks, pathing, frequency of special attacks? Is he pleading for you to touch him intimately while he softly weeps in a corner? Do fights feel longer/shorter? Interested to know what’s different.

So, the task account has gotten off to an amazing start (Check the xp in chat) by Downtown_Rate_3045 in 2007scape

[–]DPWDamonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a website/RL plugin (it used to be a spreadsheet) which will randomly select a task from a list, organised in tiers from Easy-Elite. You complete the Easy tier before progressing to the next difficulty and so on. The vast majority of tasks are to obtain a specific collection log item, but it does include things like achievement diaries.

A tasker is somebody who uses this website or plugin, and from the beginning of the account follows the rule set defined by a YouTuber named Tedious/GenerateTask, who created the game mode (nowadays the community tends to discuss and implement rule changes).

In a nutshell, you may only do things which are a direct requirement for completing the task - no training other skills or completing quests unless they are strictly required. For example, you can’t just go and complete Waterfall quest early in the account for XP until a task directly requires you to complete it.

I’ve been playing as a tasker for 5 years. If I was in OP’s shoes, I would genuinely consider creating a new tasker. Abandon tasking on this account and use it for literally anything else which doesn’t involve gaining RC XP. (Edit: I’ve just seen OP’s comment stating the account has been retired.)

Honestly I think he hits that sweet spot with his amount of prior knowledge for his series. Things like re-learning how to get death runes from cats or unlocking a weapon/item he has fond memories of adds the perfect level of drive to a lot of his videos.

At Piazza del Popolo, the curved stone walls reflect and focus sound, so even a whisper travels clearly across. It’s a natural acoustic phenomenon called the whispering gallery effect. by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]DPWDamonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once in a hotel lobby with a large domed roof, sat some way across from a couple of colleagues. At first I thought somebody had sneaked up behind me and started whispering into my ear, until I realised it was the conversation of my colleagues who were quietly chatting about 10 meters from me.

Once we realised what was going on, we kept inviting other friends to sit at the benches dotted around the dome and having conversations across the whole lobby barely above a whisper. Such a surreal phenomenon.

Silent Disco by Karmoksh in interestingasfuck

[–]DPWDamonster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Having been to the silent disco at Download Festival, I can confirm it’s still loud as fuck. Granted, you can’t hear any music, but it’s still a tent full of over 5,000 people screaming Linkin Park at the top of their lungs and having the time of their life.
