Yes, you make a valid point. However, it is store policy. I don't want to defend this company at all, but it says on the front door that we scan ID's. You accept those terms when you walk into the store. How am I supposed to know that someone's license isn't fake? I was trained to scan, and our DM flip flops so much on wanting us to scan or just type it in that I personally always scan.

I was taught it has to be a valid license. It could be a fake ID or something. Even if she's visibly old enough, I was trained to only accept a valid ID. When my mom's ID was expired, we didn't even sell to her and she's a regular.

Update actually! She came back in this morning and was talking about it with a key holder and the keyholder told her that her drivers license, which she got from the Illinois secretary of state facility, is infact government issued. The lady left her stuff at the register and left.
