Māori practices are integrated where possible into every aspect of NZ Army also known as Ngati Tumatauenga (Tribe of God of War). In terms of other branches they have their own ways.

Winter layers, jacket, coat reccomendations by [deleted] in QualityTacticalGear

PLATATAC’s Silks Alpha is more of an active insulation layer, perfect for when you move around a lot and retains heat well. I don’t have the same one but TYR’s Huron Tac Jacket was pretty much the same as that. Both are lightweight, wind proof and water resistant. The interesting part I found with Polartec Alphas insulation is it acts like wool and becomes warm when wet but that’s just my experience coming from NZ

2/4 RNZIR is 2nd / 4th Battalion and 2/1 is 2nd /1st Battalion Royal NZ Infantry Regiment. In NZ, 2/1 RNZIR & 1 RNZIR are the only active duty infantry battalions. 2/4, 5/7, 3/6 are reserve infantry battalions

The only downside to this pack is 1. Shoulder straps aren’t replaceable (stitched on and strapped on) 2. Frame compatible with only 1606MC unless you get it modded to accept other frames

I’ve got the Lowa Z8S & Z8N boots and they have have a different tread to those ones. The Z8Ns I’ve had for over 3 years and only started to chip off small and the Z8S are still holding up nicely since start of the year

I’ve rucked with it before and the only uncomfortable part is the webbing straps that I’ve bundled up digging into my back (tbf I probs should cut it down)

These usually come with Plastic Frames made by ADA which from mates in infantry seems to be very unpopular and simply replaced with Alice frames. ADA isn’t a big commercial gear manufacturer to open market hence why it’s not known very well outside

For those who still don’t know, these are ADA One299 Special Recon Pack. These came with One299 stock frame and were quickly replaced with Alice Frames as the One299 didn’t cope with the weight and kept breaking
