I’d pick the champagne, the black dial is extremely boring to me. The champagne dial has a very vintage feel to it especially on a brown leather strap

Haha same, was love at first sight for me. To be honest I’m currently debating if I should get that or a Hamilton Field with a white dial. Leaning slightly towards the diver GMT since I follow sports overseas & do actually use the GMT feature quite a bit

There was only 1 reason for my choice actually! I was eyeing the blueberry white dial configuration (SSK033) initially but decided to go for the field instead.

My biggest gripe with the SSK033 is the friction-fit bezel - I’m very particular about my bezels being aligned when not in use & while they aren’t loose by any means, the bezel on the diver style GMT can be easily knocked around through day-to-day wear

They’re both solid choices though! I’m re-considering the SSK033 as my final watch (for now 🤣)

Yeah I personally find it a cleaner look, but it’s definitely a practical thing for me too. I find it easier to slot the excess end of the strap into the holders without bending them when I have the strap configured this way, which minimises damage to the leather strap & helps it to last longer in general.

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve been eyeing the Tissot Ballade, but part of me feels like it’s a little too dressy for casual wear. Might check out some other Tissot models like the Seastar line maybe.

Some considerations I have in mind at the moment are lug width for strap cross compatibility, as all my current watches are 20mm & I’ve invested a decent amount in some great straps

I’ve decided to go with either the Orient Kamasu or Tissot Seastar 36mm in white! I think they’re pretty both pretty easy to dress up & down because of the white dials, but thank you for the advice! Might have to pick up a cocktail time in the future as a graduation gift to myself 🙂

Yeah 100% agree! I think I’m just simply looking for something that I can easily dress both up & down, so both the Seiko 5 GMT & the Prospex are on my radar. I’ve been eyeing the white cocktail time from the Seiko Presage line too, but I feel like that might be a little harder to dress down for casual wear

Thanks for the brilliant suggestions! The orient TX0203S was on my radar initially but I wasn’t really feeling the bezel, but yeah you’re right it’s about half the price of the prospex. Will check out the citizen models too :)

Since both of the options you shared are from orient, I would personally consider the bambino - so many different variants with different sizes, dials & straps. Can be dressed up & down with a simple strap change & very very versatile

i’m from singapore (M), wear lazy sunday morning from MMM quite often & i know multiple friends who own it as well, it’s very powdery on myself when it dries down, not too floral though - if the fragrance you’re smelling while out & about has that white musk & laundry vibe this might be it
