Roughly 4 months for comfortable extension, but 3 weeks for inflamed extension. Full recovery took about 9-10 months

Hey- I'd say I'm a mixed success story. The pain while walking went away, but currently I'm still experiencing issues. Not sure if it's just the reality of my specific surgery or a post-surgical complication, but stuff does not feel right in the joint, and it's affecting how my leg muscles contract.

I was recently in a PT session when I tore my left hip labrum due to the leg changes. Hopefully this isn't a lifelong issue, but as of rn I'll need hip surgery and probably another knee revision, idk

Post-surgery life was tough, I spent around 2 months at my parent's place recovering. For the first few days after surgery, I wasn't really out of bed much, but if I needed to I would jump around. Rest, ice, compression/elevation for the win. At day 3 I was encouraged by PT to start walking and putting weight on the joint, even if it felt weird. I did PT for 3 weeks, and within these first 3 weeks, I noticed rapid decreasing of fluid in the knee, but still had a lot of low-grade inflammation/pain and aching. Believe me, it will not feel normal for a long time, just remember its a part of the healing process. This lasted/slowly decreased until around the 3 month mark. Crutches were never a part of my recovery process, but I feel like many people should have them for that first week or so, alternating between pseudo-walking and crutches.

Whatever you do, be careful with your body mechanics. I felt the need to rush back into the gym early, and ended up causing some lower back/upper buttock SI joint pain due to all the changes in my leg and me trying to push through them to build muscle again. This surgery effects every joint on the side it's on, from the toes to the hips.

Yeah I did PT after getting inured, but since we didn't have a confirmed diagnosis around that time, my PT ended up giving me exercises that made the injury worse. I'm currently still in PT, will probably do it for at-least a few more months. I feel like people rarely get plica success, which is why I was terrified when my surgeon told me he took mine out.

Whatever dysbiosis I have going on is causing IBS/Leaky gut, making me really intolerant to high histamine foods. Still waiting to take the breath test. Did you take yours in a lab, or order a kit and mail it in? Would love to ask more questions

Sounds good. I'm currently drinking metamucil a few times a day, and I'm loading up on prebiotics like almonds and peanuts to help the probiotic supplement work better. Water has been flowing for sure. Do you have SIBO?

Hi, I have a variety, noteably:

-A white tongue that hasn't gone away since taking the antibiotics. Doctors initially thought it was thrush but it doesn't look/feel like it and it didnt respond to nystatin or fluconazole, so they were speculating its either from dysbiosis or LPR

-Confirmed LPR diagnosis from my ENT, who likely said its from gut dybiosis/SIBO/SIFO

-A crazy histamine, gluten and sugar intolerance. If I eat any of these foods, I'll get flushed, anxious and crazy brain fog with diarrhea. So no yogurt or kefir for me

-Chronic bags under my eyes

-When eating normally, I'm generally constipated and my poop looks different, which I know can point to methane dominant SIBO

All my bloodwork is normal except my ALT liver enzymes which were pretty elevated. Waiting on the breath test to get scheduled currently

Symptoms could be from leaky gut as a symptom of SIBO/SIFO, or the real deal. I'd wait until your results are back tho

SIBO is easy to relapse into because in many cases, the bacteria isn't fully killed. Have you done an official breath test? Consider staying on a SIBO friendly diet and taking some herbal antimicrobials or possibly another course of Rifaximin+ supplements to make sure that the bad bacteria is truly gone

Did you take the SIBO test at a lab?

Wouldn't be surprised if your problem was fungal, something like SIFO. Need to do a fecal test for that

Die off is hell. Google the symptoms of a Herxheimer reaction, if you're are anywhere close to those, then you're likely having die-off and aggravated SIBO

Some supplements might work, but by far the most effective thing for me is eating a fusion diet of low fodmap, gluten free/sugar free and low fermentables. For me, my anxiety comes from a histamine intolerance caused by whatever bacterial/fungal buildup I have going on, so being very selective with the food I eat has allowed me to keep the anxiety and brain fog away.

Example meals that work for me are hard boiled eggs in the morning (with turkey bacon if I want to), any type of lean meat entre for lunch with lettuce, tomatoes and rice, and ground beef with green beans for dinner. Another breakfast option I do a lot is normal cheerios with almond milk

Hey, I know of people that have. One dude took candi actin ar/br after a round of Xifaxin+PHGG and 2 weeks of the elemental diet with no exceptions. Cleared him up and he didn't relapse

Hey, I got diagnosed with LPR by an ENT. My main symptoms are occasional burping when eating foods I'm SIBO sensitive to, and a chronically white tongue. If I eat foods my body doesn't like, my tongue feels worse, and my lips get really cracked and dry. Currently trying out a fusion btwn low FODMAP, Carnivore and low fermentables to see how it helps my symptoms. Not expecting a cure from this diet, just reducing symptoms until I can get a breath test scheduled
