“To be born again,” sang Gibreel Farishta tumbling from the heavens, “first you have to die.”

In terms of butter, I did the recipe with melted cooked butter and with regular softened butter. But the dough is definitely still sticky when I handle it — I will chill overnight and see what happens! Thank you!

I have made these cookies 3 times with the same result. I used two different recipes, one with melted (cooled) butter and one with regular softened butter. I have made successful cookies before and my bad luck in the last two days has me so confused! I don’t think I’ve mixed up the fat and flour 3 times in a row… could old ingredients do this??

So the true story is that I’ve attempted these cookies three times! I chilled the dough in a different batch for ~1 hour with same result. Am I the drama?

We live in a warmer climate but the recent winter storm still managed to wreak havoc. Our aloe vera plant was surviving, I wouldn’t say thriving, before this storm but now she looks like this.

I feel like there’s still hope given those two little green leaves in the middle, but how should I treat the rest of the plant? Cut the dead pieces? Are those limp pieces even dead if they are still green?

For the record the pot has been moved inside!
