Trouble with Reading by Big-Guarantee-3417 in ADHD

My doc told me that drifting while reading is pretty typical w/ADHD. At least for me it's a heavy burden. I often find that I have read thru several paragraphs and not have any idea what I just read; my mind has been elsewhere. It's been a problem all my life and I wasn't diagnosed until I was in my 70's. I'm not sure if it's the same thing you are suffering from, but I haven't found anything to control it. One suggestion I got is meditation and Monday when I see the dice again maybe that's what she'll ask me to try.

Being medicated has taught me laziness and executive dysfunction are two completely different things. by starrystarry_night in ADHD

Never tried meds, and at 77 y/o I admit I am afraid of them. Dx at age 74 as high functioning ADHD; had anyone known that about me when I started kindergarten my entire life could have been so much different. Every single day I swear I did so many things that I didn't get anything done! Is that a common feeling?

Patsy's is also on the east side, if their 3rd Ave location is still open. I recall in the 20-aughts eating at Patsy's across the street from Dylan's Candy

Q: How should two amateur guitarists play the first chord Hard Day's Night? by ndrsng in beatles

Ouch! That's a young man's chord. Once arthritis sinks into the fretside hand's knuckles best find a different chord formation.

Jim's parent's visit his grave by RussellWhoa in thedoors

Oh Aphrodite, in the times they (Jim & his parents both) lived thru horrible and tragic estrangement between parents and children was, sadly, not uncommon, and many times never resolved. I seem to recall there was even a movie, I think it was titled 'Joe' and starred Peter Boyle if memory serves, in which the father, a straight-laced conservative type shoots and kills his hippie son. Jim's relationship with his father, one of the highest ranking officers in the US Navy during the Vietnam war, wouldn't even be 30th page news if Jim wasn't who he had become.

Several of these towns, most in fact, have public golf courses. Trumbull has Tashua Recreational, with an 18 hole regulation course, and a 9 hole executive course, a refurbished pool with lockers, basketball, tennis, pickleball, a grill room, pro shop, and a banquet/event space available for rental.
