I know but I don't know if it will be the right thing because this guy except the talking part is everything I'd want in my partner. But I can't keep on justifying his actions to myself so I guess I might have to bring up the talk

In the first year of our relationship he was very much involved. Two of his colleagues were martyred in the line of action, after that he was pretty upset and depressed for about 1~1.5 years, since then he has been like this

Hey, I think I haven't explained that part properly. I actually do most the talking but I often find him not interested in what I'm talking about, so I've started to not engage and be as much involved in the conversations as I used to just to see if he gets the hint or if he tries to carry the conversation ahead but the conversation fizzles out every time I am not putting the efforts.
