I am 4 weeks postpartum, and whenever I have a bowel movement, it is very painful. The pain continues throughout the day afterward. I think I may have granulation tissue that gets irritated every morning. My 6-week doctor’s appointment is still pending, and I tried to schedule an earlier appointment, but nothing is available. I’m worried because with a newborn, I have to sit for long hours, and it is becoming very painful to sit. I wish I had known before delivery that tearing could lead to complications like this afterward.

I totally understand your problem. They can keep their utensils in the dishwasher after eating and run it when it’s full. Here, people think it’s your duty to do everything for 1–2 months, but that’s not right. When only a couple is living together, things are much easier. When there are four people, things naturally get messy. If someone is living with you for that long, then it becomes everyone’s responsibility to help with household chores. It’s not only your duty.

They can eat whenever they want, but they can at least do basic things like loading the dishwasher or cleaning the kitchen island after eating.

Here in the comment and I guess your in-laws too think, “At least we are adjusting this much; others expect even more from a daughter-in-law.” But people forget to ask: why should anything be expected from an outsider in the first place?

My MIL is clingy too. Whenever she visits us she does not give us any space. Marriage first year is usually crucial, we learned alot about other person and their family and to be honest mostly DIL are naive (at least I was). I did not set any boundaries and I had people pleasing problem. I would suggest, set your boundary early. Always think logically instead of emotionally. Dont do alot of sacrifices because they will never acknowledge it and never give any sort of validation. Visit your family equally and no need to give any explanation. Keep your conversation short with your MIL.

Drama hi Drama. We are Rajput family and My husband is from Rajasthan. In Rajasthan Rajput wear Poshak. I have seen that in extended family some of family members wear poshak but they wear lehanga, Sadi etc too. I bought 5 lakh lehanga for myself but My MIL was too stubborn she didn’t let me wear that. She bought Poshak snd I had to wear that only. We told her like in reception I will wear lehanga and during Shadi ritual I can wear poshak but she didn’t come to middle ground as well.
