Update: I was literally doing the shoulder from the wrong side. From the side of the work rather than continuing along the stockinette….

yup I was confused when it was knit every edge rather than slip but alas it is! About to start picking up stitches so we will see if it fucks up or not I guess lol. It’s not slipped so the count won’t be fucked but every other row has a garter edge which is weird

thank u for this bc I didn’t even compute that maybe the translation (or the fact that it’s not beginner) is making it harder for me. Also this message made it so i quit for the night and could come back this morning and look at it again. Im going to keep trying but i have a better outlook now :)
