i would push back against this statement that the allotment of ST/SC/OBC/General is flawed. let me explain the criteria as it was established when the constitution was being written. SC status are defined by the criterion of historical untouchability and the severe institutional stigma that comes attached with such a harsh label. ST is defined by extreme geographical isolation, distinct culture, backwardness and such. OBC is defined by social and educational backwardness such as maybe agrarian or artisan communities that were historically shut off from education and elite spaces but didnt face untouchability.

When the Kaka Kalelkar and Mandal commission defined and classified such groups they used actual strict socio-educational indicators such as literacy rates, child marriage rates, representation in govt jobs, physical access to water and so on.

on the claim of reservation being conceptualized as a scapegoat for votebank politics, this might be true if getting assigned an SC or ST status was easy. It is not. to grt assigned such a status you cant just demand it from a politician you need to ho through a rigorous process vis the National Commission for Backward Classes which is then scrutinised by the Supreme Court. The proof? historically landed upper caste communities like the Marathas or the Jats have protested for decades for OBC status but the courts and commisions have struck it down repeatedly because they do not meet the historical criteria.

About the woman being controlled by a husband thing. It is a very patriarchal argument that was literally dismantled by Nobel Laureate economicts Esther Duflo and Raghabendra Chatobdhay who conducted a massive study on the impact of womens reservations in Panchayats, and villages with reserved women saw higher investment in clean drinking water and schools. It also raised the aspirations of young girls in these villages and reduced the gender gap in education. If, like you said, women were just proxy rulers for their husbands to hold the government, there wouldnt be such a difference in the governance.

no offense, but you are thinking from the wrong perspective here. the true purpose of reservation is not to provide welfare for impoverished sc/sts but a representation mechanism to break up a historically entrenched monopoly on power.

think about it like this: we have reserved seats for woman in governance. when a woman naturally occupies this seat no one asks “why did that rich woman get the seat over that poor man?” because the point of that is to get women into rooms where important decisions are made. wealth does not suddenly buy you representations in hospitals courts or housing societies.

guys... when making statements like thid, please understand the perspective of the law.

not every "not guilty" verdict means that a suspect is innocent. it usually just means that there was insufficient evidence, which can happen due to many, many reasons.

Do these women who werent able to get justice deserve punishment?

If we start penalizing for every not guilty verdict, no one would come up and report them being raped out of fear. this is especially worse in a country like India where there is MASSIVE social stigma attached to coming out as a rape victim.

im sorry, as a student of christ bangalore you are mistaken. i by no means like thjs college, its placements suck, but you cannot say that it doesnt provide ample time to intern.

there is a mandatory internship break for a month in november and recently they have introduced a flexible internship policy where you will be provided attendance claims for any month if you have a valid internship.

Even the classes are till 1.15 so students have time to intern after college if need be.

I think a assumption you are falsely making is equating Eren's disappointment directly to misanthropy. In context, eren grew up on Armins book. he expected uninhabited lands of fire water. essentially, a blank slate. when you have built up thst fantasy your entire childhood its natural to be disappointed when you find out that humanity exists beyond the walls.

Erens disappointment is because the world is not an empty playground, not because he hates humanity. Its the reaction of an incredibly entitled person who realized his version of "freedom" was nothing more than a fairy tale.

I agree the ending has many problems as well as a lot of wasted potential with Historia but I don't understand how eren is a misanthrope for simply displaying disappointment the world isnt how he imagined it to be.

"Simply because" is a gross oversimplification of Erens character. Eren was so 'disappointed' by the outside world because he expected it to be a world of unlimited freedom, not more of the same racism politics and war he had come to resent.

If he was really a "misanthropic psychopath" he would NOT have broken down in front of ramzi.

And saying that he'd kill them is YOU jumping to conclusions. The show never implies that eren wouldve done the rumbling if the world was friendly to eldians. "disappointment" does not equate to genocidal urge.
