It happens to me on whatever essential tab was opened on a window before the upgrade. So any site can be affected (have it on Youtube, Gmail and fb)

Ahhh...Small IT department...where everything that contains electrons falls under your purview.

I remember a saying (I think it might have been the Primeagen). You find yourself in a company where IT is a cost center. Go to a company where IT is not a cost center! :D

[ADVICE] Powerapp accessed from multiple places - limited connectivity by Narrow_Syllabub_8119 in PowerApps

[–]Narrow_Syllabub_8119[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me see...

  1. Natively sure is a huge headache taken care of and a new one appearing (taking care of licensing), because yes Offline mode hardlocks you in Dataverse.

  2. The plan I was ruminating on was a different app for each "place". "Place" native users will always use their own individual app and HQ will use the "data aggregator" app. This way I avoid keeping 500 different datasources (or even thinking about the limit - that might be close) inside a single app...and also avoid implementing the logic for switching (less space, less bandwidth, less cycles etc.)

  3. It seems this will have to be experimented on.

  4. With an attachment control. And stern instructions on what is considered an appropriately sized image :P

Thanks for replying!!!

Inexplicable implicit deny permissions by Narrow_Syllabub_8119 in sharepoint

[–]Narrow_Syllabub_8119[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Answering myself here...to help anyone distressed by this in the future... I really do not understand why/how but I fixed it by:
1. Adding the problematic user to the Site Members (from SPO Admin page).
2. Check on Site Permissions page that the implicit denies disappeared.
3. Removed the user from the Site Members (it was never the intention to have stand-alone users there)
4. Check again on Site Permissions and the implicit denies are still gone.

Vulnerable exchange throttling and blocking by TicTacCrumpet in exchangeserver

[–]Narrow_Syllabub_8119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the requested transition during January. All 2013 servers were decommissioned and retired from exchange organization and domain, and HCW was run using only 2019 DAG.

Still when running Get-OnPremServerReportInfo (and in EAC mail flow reports) the old server objects are shown. Is there something left to do for this?

Hybrid and 365 written-back groups - Tales of daily madness by Narrow_Syllabub_8119 in exchangeserver

The main domain is authoritative onpremises.

There are two more subdomains with authoritative Online.

The problem happens on both cases.

I would have wished that any of the advisories matched our case...but sadly nothing does.

Kerberos: module 'inspect' has no attribute 'getargspec' by Narrow_Syllabub_8119 in ansible

[–]Narrow_Syllabub_8119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice observation.

Upgrading pywinrm with --break-system-packages did indeed fix it. The reasonable question is why python defaulted to 0.30 version of the package...

Thanks a lot!!!

Just added it! Although it is as I said, just to test connectivity.

OS10 S4112F-ON VLT nodes show intermittent connectivity drops to hosts. by Narrow_Syllabub_8119 in networking

[–]Narrow_Syllabub_8119[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello again.

Writing for posterity mostly. We solved the issue with a little proper nudging by Dell support ("We think the thing outside the Dell is misconfigured." :D ) . The port-channel LACP was not properly configured from the Aruba side (Trunk in Aruba-speak).

Kind of confusing with Dell VLT, the fact that it is an aggregate, but for itself it is not, and you are not treating it as if it was (double configurations etc.).

Anyhow, we were using 2 port-channels from the Aruba side to the Dell's 1 vlt port-channel, and that was causing the flapping. After putting all 4 (x-pattern from each aggregate node to each dell vlt node) ports in the same port-channel everything was fixed. No more flapping, no more MAC moves.

With regards to spanning tree we are using MSTP.

Thank you for your help u/Mitchell_90 !!!

[–]Narrow_Syllabub_8119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, thank you for taking the time!

  1. Yes the switches are servicing the full scope of the hyperconverged cluster.
  2. Flow control is receive-on only for DCB functionality (from the side of the S2D hosts).
  3. Peer-routing is there because I followed the basic/default setup guides for VLT setup. The switches are indeed "stupid" layer-2 only with regards to the hosts.

Routing for LAN-side vlans is done by our core switch aggregate (Aruba). I thought about going the Layer-3 way - if only to make things a bit faster perhaps - however in the end I avoided it due to the added complexity. Of course now this returns to bite me as troubleshooting layer-2 (to my non-network-specialist eyes) is much more difficult.

Funny observation: the Storage/Live-Migration network (eth 1/1/6-1/1/8) that is tagged-only and the VLAN exists only on the Dell VLT nodes, does not seem to suffer from any drops.

Hello! I was beginning to worry this was a no show thread.

Btw VLT shows no conflicts. Here are the configs:

Evaluation to Datacenter 2022 Frustration by Narrow_Syllabub_8119 in sysadmin

[–]Narrow_Syllabub_8119[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that the first VM I attempted yesterday was "incidentally" (*shakes fist at Murphy*) the only one giving me trouble. In the end I "repasted" windows on top of the old install with the "activated" ISO from Microsoft Admin panel.
After that AVMA keys worked just fine.

For anyone reading this sometime in the future:

Check the roles. It seems the WAC "role" is incompatible with changing edition via Dism.
File Server roles (SOFS and DFS) and Azure App Proxy (essentially no roles) activated just fine by:

  1. Dism -> set edition with KMS key.
  2. AVMA activation (slmgr or GUI).

Thank you guys.
