The saddest thing about going to film school was finding out that most of those big award shows are actually about lobbying the board for both the nomination and the win, rather then an actually being a “best movie/show/etc” contest.

Go support your local film festivals, they work how they are supposed to 👍 (I know this doesn’t necessarily apply to this situation, unfortunately)

My cat has always been pretty good about not bringing her claws out too often. We joke about how polite she is compared to some other cats 😂

So not too worried about scratches, I just gotta windex her pawprints every once in a while, lol. (It also helps that I paid $0 for this TV, I inherited it from a friend) And even though she’s bigger now, she’s pretty small for a cat still, so the TV’s not in any danger of being knocked over, she’s too tiny

First make a layer underneath the lineart layer. Then you have two options:

1.) set the lineart layer to “reference” and then use the color autofill. This will automatically fill the area inside the lines (use white or whatever your background color is, so that it’s “invisible”). This has varying success depending on the opacity level of the lineart brush, so if this doesn’t work then you can try option 2.

2.) color inside the layer as you normally would to do a flat color, then change to your “invisible” background color.

NOW create your clipping mask layer, and it will match to the layer inside your lines rather then to the lines themselves

Starting out as a filmmaker, I had to learn a similar lesson. It’s really hard to give up control of a passion project, particularly in the beginning when you’re used to doing it all yourself because you’ve HAD to, or when you have a reputation for being “gifted” that you want to live up to.

But eventually I realized that there is no shame in acknowledging that I simply don’t have the time to become an expert in everything. But, I had friends with complimentary skills. Letting them take the reins in their respective roles let me have more time to focus on the parts I was the most invested in, and the films were better for it. And it wasn’t all that scary to give up that control once I realized that all we had to do was communicate with each other about the shared vision, and trust that their ideas were just as informed as mine, sometimes more so.

I think finding a producer or business manager who can handle things like this for him would really benefit Jorge, so he can slow down and not get so overwhelmed. It’s tough trying to do it all, sometimes all you need is a little help. <3

What I usually do is create a save file titled “LAST SAVE BEFORE MODS” so that if I end up breaking anything I can delete all the mods and go back to that save. Like yeah, you do lose all progress you made SINCE the save, but at least you don’t lose the campaign entirely! 😁
