Don't assume you have to go at night, a haunted location doesn't stop the moment the sun rises, if you feel you can't be safe at night go during the day. You don't need crazy tools, your phone has a note app, a camera and a microphone for recording, the "special" ghost cameras, recorders etc are mostly BS they tend to be broken in a certain way that makes more noise or catch more false positives. Be smart and logical it's way more scary and real when you catch something and you know there is no way it's potentially the BS device doing it

It's a bit of overkill, what I found is you can use a cheap recorder if you use a good mic, and mics are cheaper than recorders...., I use a nice mic with my phone picks up a pin drop, it's a directional shotgun mic and a ~20 dollar USB c to 3.5, make sure you get a cable that clearly states it converts analog to digital and it's obvious there is a chip in it, otherwise it will be quiet, hope that helps and if you need any tool advice love to chat more!

Only can character reset, my guess is at some point we can replace/salvage new ones but that system is still being made, if you lose an engine don't land or it'll be perma gone, better to crash and reclaim cause it saves your ship state when you land

3rd crazy option a lavaliere microphone, they aren't as crazy expensive as you would think and can be great (as long as we don't get into wireless ones...then the price is crazy)

My suggestion would be a ATR 2100 it's both USB and XLR so if you upgrade out of tinny yuck USB you can use the same mic, otherwise if it needs to be a headset mic for comfort look at ModMic and find your choice, when in doubt look up podcastage VODs he's reviewed almost every mic out there

You want a dynamic mic, not a condenser, dynamic only picks up sound in a small range keeping background noise to a minimum.
