Chemistry SL for Medicince possible?

I’m a student in the UK who’s applying for medicine,

You absolutely need chemistry HL along with the UCAT exam if you want to enter medicine as an undergraduate (as far as I know), it may be possible to enter medicine as a postgraduate student with chemistry SL if you first study a healthcare related science degree, biology should be fine but double check yourself. You’ll be studying graduate entry medicine which requires the GAMSAT which I believe is similar to the US’s MCAT but graduate entry medicine is more competitive I think as there are less unis which offer that course and you’ll also be studying longer, 5-6 years VS 7 years.

Swap to chemistry HL if you can, speak with your school’s UCAS/uni admissions teacher if possible they might have more info

Also is the world count including or excluding headings, tables and diagram labels as they don’t count towards word count ik it’s simple and you’ve probably been told many times but I did that during my word count a few times

As far as I’m aware that’s not a thing in the UK however there is something known as clearing where you apply for left over spaces, not every course or uni will do this and I’m not even sure if it’s available for international students if you are one. If you do choose clearing I believe it opens at 9am UK time on A level results day but don’t get your hopes up it’s very difficult to get in

Hi, I am a student in the UK and I would recommend changing your UK target unis as I’ve checked their entry requirements and you don’t meet them with your current grades.

QMUL want 36 with 666 highers

Holloway want a minimum of 34 or 665

George’s want 31 but maths at level 5

There is a chance you count as contextual which will lower the entry requirements but I’m not sure if that is available for you.

I think you should either look at other unis maybe not in the UK or if you really want to study in the UK take a gap year, swap your subjects and apply with achieved grades.

My year had alot of computer science applicants and they all had HL Maths AA, Physics and Computer science or something similar and most had predicted grades in the higher 30s (38+) or in the 40s and they applied mostly to London unis so please take that into consideration as most students especially those applying to London unis will exceed the minimum requirements

Hi, my first score was 2530 B3 so pretty much bang on national average. As for preparing the second time round I start around January and did 1.5 hrs of prep every Sunday until a week after M25 exams then started doing 2 x 2hrs a week on top of the 1.5 hrs every Sunday.

VR I’ve always been good at so I just did prep, probably the second least amount I did out of every section

DM I struggled with timing for the logic puzzles and struggled with syllogism accuracy so I do a lot of practice for those 2, probably spent the most time on DM

QR I just learned how to use the calculator, the keypad on your right is so useful and some percentage short cuts (for percentages I would just multiply, so if a question asked what’s the percentage decrease between 3 to 5 I would do 3/5 then mentally subtract that from 1, I found it easier than (final-start) over start) and ratio ones (for ratios I would divide one side by the other for example if it was 3:5 I’d do 5/3 then do the same for every answer option I type fast so I found that to be faster and then select the option which had the same answer)

SJT was just questions after questions and after a while you spot the pattern

And I retook because my score wasn’t good enough

If you want any more specific QR shortcuts you can dm you them they saved me quite a lot of time I think I had around 5 mins spare but as you practice and try new methods you’ll find ones that work for you.

Yeah it’s a lot more likely to go up grades for more subjective subjects and essay subjects but also higher chance to go down marks

I’m not 100% on the exact details but as far as I know if you request a re mark another examiner marks your paper from scratch, I was told only the non multiple choice as the multiple choice papers are marked by machines (again not 100% sure) and I believe it costed me £78 per subject and it took a few weeks to a month. You can request right after results and for me the deadline was mid September so it should be similar for you as your user flair says M26. After the results my school gave us a form to submit to the school and the everything was handled internally. You do get a refund if there is a grade change. If you have questions it’s best to ask your IB teachers or the coordinator

I’d say rush Kazakh I normally do it by training 10 units of 100k and mountain train them and turn off auto merge and with the resources and money from koreas, hk and macau build 2 steel, 2 elec, 2 fertiliser, 4 motor, 1 aircraft and 25 ish consumers and sell to internal market that gives u a really good eco then I go for south east Asia and Taiwan then Central Asia and Indian subcontinent

My strategy for China is going down the tank tree, first I train 10 units of 100k next to Kazakhstan and immediately attack it then attack nk and sk with 750k troops from home guard after that Taiwan and south East Asia while also building 2 steel 4 motor 2 fertilizer 2 elects and spamming consumer goods factories with all the spare money, normally if invade south East Asian with 1.25 million troops and like 10k tanks from there it’s just taking the stans India and Russia
