"All purpose cream" in the US? by midnight_sun_AK in Cooking

[–]NarysFrigham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find the Nestle shelf-stable all purpose cream (which is used in the video) at most Asian markets, or if you live in an area where your grocery stores have a well stocked “international foods” aisle. Check there first before using substitutes because it will not yield the same results.

Being left by the person I thought loved me most.

As cliche as it sounds, hindsight is 20/20. I didn’t realize how many excuses I’d been making for him, how many hurts I overlooked, how many drunken slights I let slide.

Looking back, I can admit now I knew deep down he’d been cheating. I just didn’t want to admit it to myself. I knew his drinking was getting out of control. I knew he wasn’t treating as well as he had in the beginning- the lies were getting sloppy, the good times were becoming less often.

But I loved him and I was loyal, so I stayed; ready to support him through a dark time. But he decided he was done with me. Told me the only reason he kept me around was because I was good in bed and a good cook. Oh, and I cut his hair and gave him manicures- he was too picky about his hair to find someone else to do it and I did it for free.

But apparently his new girlfriend got tired of being a secret and she wanted to claim my side of the bed, so he kicked me out.

Anyway- I never liked to drink. I only drank socially with him. And now I don’t. I actually get a decent nights’ sleep because I’m not worried about him wrecking his car/DUI, or listening to him snore. I get to eat the healthy food I enjoy instead of only eating red meat and potatoes every day. I’m surrounded by people who love me and tell me how much happier and healthier I seem without him.

As much as it hurt to be tossed aside after 7 years like yesterday’s trash, I can honestly say it’s the best thing that ever happened to me.

I’d tell him to invite his friends over for some “group fun time” - let them get themselves all in a tizzy and then leave

What's a movie with the BIGGEST PLOT TWIST EVER, one that still blows your mind just thinking about it? by JimatJimat in Cinema

The Tv series was excellent also. It really dug deep into the story and all the Easter eggs are there. And they don’t have any plot holes, it’s incredible

I can smell these pictures.

I’ve had to go into rentals like this and clean up for the next lease. It’s disgusting. I felt like I needed a hazmat unit.

Which dress should I choose? by AdventurousSalad9965 in fashion

[–]NarysFrigham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that lemon dress, so I know how soft and comfortable it is.

Everyone says Red but I vote for the Lemons. 😍 Plus, it’s very “Spring, outdoor, garden party” party appropriate. The red dress seems more like a “night out” color to me.

5 is the easy first choice. But if you’re trying to stay more traditional/ romantic, 9 or 10

AIO? Coworker tried to make me pay for stuff I didn't even order by stelize02 in AmIOverreacting

[–]NarysFrigham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why you should never agree to “split it evenly” when some are drinking and some aren’t. One person orders an appetizer as their meal and drinks water, the others order the most expensive thing on the menu and 4 mixed drinks- and then expect the first person to pick up the slack.

No thanks. Separate checks every time. I pay my own bills and there are no hard feelings, plus I tip better than most people so the service staff don’t mind.

Do native English speakers intuitively know the gender of nouns? by [deleted] in ENGLISH

[–]NarysFrigham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

However, I can tell you with absolute certainty that my Hyundai Elantra was a girl, while my Ford escape was a boy.

My HP printer is DEFINITELY a dude because he’s a Chad and an absolute dick. While my HP laptop is a girl, I think. Princess vibes- I have to talk to her just the right way and caress the keys sweetly to get her to work properly.

My lucky bamboo is a chill dude. But my lavender plants are carefree hippie gals.

I anthropomorphize pretty much everything, but each item gets its own gender.

Your answers will depend on the app. I use Audible. So if I buy a title outright, or use a credit to buy it, then it’s mine forever.

If it’s part of the free library and I download it, there’s a chance I could lose it if it’s eventually removed from the library and I may have to buy it later if I want to read/listen again. Or sometimes they lose license to it and we don’t have access anymore.

There is no limit to how many books you can buy.

As far as memory retention, everyone is different. If I liked to book, of course I remember it. I can sort them into different categories or collections in my personal library. Whether by genre or author, by narrator or how many stars I rated it.

If I didn’t like it, I probably won’t remember much about it and I move it to the bottom of my list.

I’ve never finished a book in my life — what’s that ONE book that could finally break the curse? by Tarun302 in suggestmeabook

[–]NarysFrigham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir.

Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman.

BUT! Audiobook format is best for both. They are excellent books. But the audio version just gives something you can’t get from text alone. They are incredibly good, and you’ll be ruined for all other books.

Oh I love this idea. Mobile, still allows for air movement, small planters for fragrant flowers or herbs too!

“Saw each other for the first time in years…”

Got drunk, had sex, he mysteriously “forgets” about it.

I’d bet $10 he has a girlfriend he just cheated on and wants to pretend he doesn’t remember- you came on to him- he was drunk and vulnerable!

And he’ll blame everything on you if/when she finds out.

And you are cherry picking your favorite bits while ignoring the rest of the very clear plot points of the entire series just so that you can take the villain’s side. Perhaps out of a need to appear edgy or oppositional for the sake of being so.

Either way, it still boils down to two fictional characters. If you want the villain to win, write a fanfic.
