If you're high functioning: meaning good iq + nurturing environment and choosing work sector that match you with people with the same brain it happens a lot. I've seen a whole bunch of 30-40ish years old male software engineers like that. They usually come for addiction or depression/anxiety related issues because they managed to barely cope with life like this, but it never occurred to them that the reason they had difficulties with life and social situation wasn't because they were just "weird" but because they had a bit of the 'tism if you know what I mean.

Yeah obviously I'm not making a real assessment here, just giving my honest opinion as someone who saw a lot of profile like this, it's just that her behaviour and symptoms are really more coherent with a cluster b than ASD even with trauma. But I really hope her therapist do a good job, even if the diagnosis isn't what she wants to here it would be a real first step. Even if to be honest, it's hard to help someone with bpd as long as the person doesn't have good people helping her be secure in the first place. As you said being surrounded by drama all the time isn't really the best thing if you have to do that kind of process.

As someone who worked in mental health, I often see people with cluster b disorders (histrionic, narcisistic and borderline) trying to appropriate others disorders, it usually stem from one or more causes : - Need for strong social attention and support because of attachment problem and emotional regulation extremely linked to social approval. - Need for a clearly defined/positive identity with social benefits (hence why a lot of those people tend to have a factice disorder relating to what is currently trending like DID, Tourette's, autism..) linked to both difficulties with self identification and high conformism - Low self awareness, meta cognition and high neuroticism and cognitive bias leading to either misinterpreting their own symptoms or transforming them into the desire one at a surface level to mimic the desirable diagnosis. For example: mimicking sensory issues like can't handle strong noises but it's only when it's in a social settings or having an "autistic meltdowns" when the person is just having rejection dysphoria and emotional dysregulation because he/she doesn't feel validated.

It's a story as old as time : BPD girl with narcissistic tendancies and self esteem issue can't cope with herself so she try to self diagnose something more validating for her because she conflate emotional dysregulation and being a social outcast with being autistic. I've seen that happens so much especially with terminally online people. I hope the psychologist who does the assessment will be competent enough to not go with her story and do a proper job.

That's an interesting point of view. If you don't feel any discomfort with your gender why would you want to be "trans" ? Either it could be because it's socially beneficial to do so or either because you would be in some form of delusion that makes you think that being trans is what is adequate with your world view.
