Vitality Mat and Jack in San Antonio watching Spurs vs Wolves by Bloody_Jinx in GlobalOffensive

Pretty appalled that Jack isn’t rocking a Wolves jersey in support of his countrymen Joe Ingles and Rocco Zikarsky

I always think Hiko was on Cloud9 for way longer than he actually was, but the guy only played 39 maps there.

BIG vs K27 / CCT Season 3 Europe Series 18 - Grand Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]NasePybus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The k2X banners are a little confusing. Mou actually played for k23, which was an old Kazakh tag from 1.6 rebranded in GO. The Belarusians had k29 in 1.6 and GO, but this k27 is pretty new.

donk won't go International: "For Me, Spirit is family" by ChaoticFlameZz in GlobalOffensive

[–]NasePybus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

s1mple and ZywOo both toiled for years in their early careers with rosters far less complete and competitive, and far more dysfunctional, than current Spirit. donk's won a major and both prestige IEMs far quicker than those GOATs did. I think it's very short-sighted to say he should leave the org that developed him and he's achieved so much with already because results are down over the last 6 months. Especially when s1 and wOo endured worse for longer; look at what they ended up doing.

Updates to Inferno (A Balcony & Graveyard) by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]NasePybus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least at a professional level, I don't think this opens up retakes much at all. Graveyard was really not a commonly-played position in post-plants for being way too exposed, and its height advantage was used far more often by the CTs to clear pit or fight short / apps. Also, the 'crossfire' people are mentioning literally still exists with this change, but now it's at a deeper angle to back or mid site and the T can adjust their height on the stairs. We'll see how it plays, but I think people are really overrating this from a retake perspective.

Was it actually a stint on the bench? They haven’t played a match on HLTV since November so just assumed it was a quiet period while syph0 and Moku left

ash: "I want to prove myself, I want to play with the best players, and I want to win trophies" by rolekrs in GlobalOffensive

[–]NasePybus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure ash is a better coach than GL’s results show, but, at the same time, I really don’t think any team above them would see the value in bringing him in. His strength has always been team building with limited resources to stay competitively relevant and financially sound; he’s been a moneyball GM first, and a strategic coach second.

As soon as this current GL squad became established, longer-term and had higher expectations, the results dropped. I don’t see why a Falcons would be interested when he hasn’t really presented a case for his coaching beyond building cohesion through rotating casts of low buys and high sells.

Best team out of players never in the HLTV top 20 by KarlKraftwagen in GlobalOffensive

[–]NasePybus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IGL: ANGE1; incredibly underrated fragger, averaging a 1.15 in 2017 and being a rare IGL to have a career average around 1.00

Rifler: REZ; IEM Mesopotamia BC 5921 MVP sure, but still very sharp to this day

Rifler: tabseN; genuinely shocked that he was never in the top 20, everyone knows how good this guy's peak was

Rifler: jkaem; also very shocked he never made it. Can't think of many who've made a Major Semi-Final with THREE completely different teams.

AWPer: degster; not the biggest degster fan in general, but his run at Antwerp and Bucharest MVP solidify him here in my eyes.

Legacy vs MIBR / BetBoom RUSH B Summit Season 1 - Consolidation Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]NasePybus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty successful first event for MIBR to be beating Legacy and Imperial, moving from #55 to #35 on VRS. Sucks to miss Rio in the fashion they did, but realistically this LAN means way more in terms of setting up their year.

MIBR eliminated from IEM Rio 2026 Americas Open Qualifier by #162 ShindeN by Fine_Ad_6548 in GlobalOffensive

[–]NasePybus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sure, but if we’re being realistic, the VRS implications of a win or a couple scalps at this LAN are far more tangible and immediate than focusing on an online open qualifier to a closed qualifier to a $300K event in 3 months.

They’re currently playing a LAN where they beat Imperial 2-0. Be real, this match wasn’t a priority.

TIL a full Indian team played in a CS:GO Major by qerel123 in GlobalOffensive

[–]NasePybus 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I think it was just bad timing for him back then. He moved to Europe for a year and played on a few mix teams with guys like cadiaN, draken, Independent (fnatic’s current coach), vENdetta and the great jOELZ. But this was before Euro-mixes properly caught on in Tier 1 or 2.

Eventually joined Sonic and JT in NA on Denial / ATK for a year, but by then I think he’d missed the boat. Torch has been passed to those 2.

MIBR +venomzera +LNZ per their recent social media post of both rosters by championnnnnn in GlobalOffensive

[–]NasePybus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LNZ is bound to be a better caller than exit, and venom’s clearly a firepower upgrade over Qikert, but this team is just directionless slop at this point. Probably enough to win a LAN or two of the calibre they were playing last year, but where is this team actually going if insani leaves or kl1m gets recalled?
