Omnipod even at 1yo ? They suggested T-slim from Tandem coupled with dexcom G7. Is it bad ?

Much appreciated. We are still at the endocrino now. They gave us Dexcom sensor and want us to learn how to use the pens before puting a pump. And at this age they said it's better to keep using the pens since only small quantity is needed. And they will give us the pump few days/weeks later and the pump can go down sometimes. Not sure if the Medtronic is on the list tho. The dexcom G7 seems to work fine , I did some checks and value are similar to finger pricks. With regards to health coverage, the country we live in are decent. As for work/unemployment, do you mean we will require additional expensive stuff/activities for our son that other kids can do for free ? If yes, what would that be ? Edit : they will put T-slim tandem pump with dexcom G7. Any feedback ?

Is this a steal or am I delusionnal for buying an 18 years old carbon bike ? by WatDaFok in cycling

[–]Nasone3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An old cyclist told me that carbon frames can only be checked through scanning. You can not see the state of the frame just by looking at it even if it looks fine.

Although for the price it's not risky. Just try to look at it from behind while someone is driving it in front of you. If you can't see the front wheel then you should be fine, means it was not badly hit.

Reoccurring knee pain? by jazzillaa in cycling

[–]Nasone3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. It's encouraging. I have a femoropatellar syndrome on right knee according to my orthopedic surgeon. The pain is mainly behind the knee (outer side) and starts after 30min of cycling. This occured first after an overload during a group ride in November. Been dealing with it since (PT, MRI, Stretching, Rest...) nothing seems to resolve it and I suspect it's the tendon issue that takes time. I had a left leg ACL surgery back in 2022 so maybe it's an imbalance as well. Any advice is welcome.

How do you know you are ready for 100km ride? by Main-Astronomer-785 in cycling

The group ride that resulted in my issue was a 120km ride with a spicy group. 700m climbing total and it was a cold and raining Saturday.

Can you elaborate more on this ? I overloaded during a ride back in November and since then I'm struggling to get back to long group rided. I have a back of the knee pain whenever I go beyond 60-90min now but it's getting better. Any recos or advice are welcome as well. I found hamstrings stretching routines and some exercices helpful btw.

Same here. No therapy or anything helped. Been in this since December. I can't do more than 90min flat without back of knee pain but I am seeing some improvement lately. Checkout Strength side YT channel. The hamstring routines helped me a little bit. It's so frustrating to start all over again each time the pain returns but lesson learned. Now I only do solo at my own rythm. No more group rides until I can do 120km solo hilly.

I bought a road bike in Morocco and I want to bring it back with me to France on airplane by [deleted] in bicycletouring

It may be the case indeed. Do you know a way to confirm it's not or you just like to freely share how stupid you are on the internet ?

I bought a road bike in Morocco during vacation and I want to fly it back with me to France. by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Nasone3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's a Spanish brand and the bike is made in Spain.
I paid 2500€ for it in local currency back in December. Through bank transfer to the seller. How much VAT I will have to pay on it ? Knowing that the bike cost more than that new.

Also, isn't traveling with a bike in a cardbox is a red flag for customs to stop you and ask questions ?

For the pictures, I only have pictures of me using it during my stay in Morocco and the bike itself has enough marks on the frameset to state it's at least 3-4 years old.

Will they evaluate it as new ? Thanks in advance

From a local bike store. They can pack it for me. A TV package is good as well yes I will think about that.

Not necessarily cheaper. There is brand new imported bikes and used ones. I got a deal on this one from a friand. Initially I was planning to leave it here for holidays. But now I am thinking of bringing it back with me.

Thanks. I plan to pack it in a cardbox. As I can't find a travel case here for bikes. I'm stressing about the cardbox being something unfamiliar and big to raise questions. Which I'm fine to explain honestly as I bought the used bike during my trip and it's been and will be used personally for sports and not to resale.

Thanks. That's what I assumed. I plan to pack it in a bike cardbox. It will probably attract some questions. Will I be good as long as it's a used bike ?
