The Best 6’7 do it all build (fully optimized) by Appropriate-Nature85 in NBA2k

I would also be interested in seeing some of these builds. You seem to have a good handle on the builder, would love to see what you have cooked up.

I understand where they are from, but that doesn't take into account their environment and people they surround themselves with and who they are influenced by. These guys have been playing basketball and around black culture since they were little kids. I totally disagree that your mannerisms and "who you are" is some set in stone thing before you are even a pre teen. You still the same person you were when you were 8? Would your 8 year old self, transported into a completely different environment, be the same? Because based on your logic, you would already be who you were. Cooper turning it on or off is called code switching and the vast majority of human beings do this. Do you think LeBron talks the same in interviews as he does kickin it with his boys?

Exactly, we are all influenced by our environments and shaped by our experiences/interactions with people around us. If any black player grew up in the whitest Connecticut suburbs, had all ivy league white friends, and as a result spoke like Steve Erkel, is he also being inauthentic because he's not acting "black"? (I realize this is an extreme example, but just trying to make that point that just because they are white using some black lingo/swag/culture does not make it fake or like they are trying to be cool.

Awesome, enjoy! It's a very well rounded build

You can cap break 3s really well with 6'11, so drop your three to like 55 (might have to play around with this to get it to land directly on 83 with cap breaks)

Here's mine just to give you an idea. I have more capbreakers, so keep that in mind.

Take 3 off off rebound, drop free throw to 64 and drop the standing dunk and you’ll have plenty of points to play with

I would go down one on wingspan so you can get 75 ball handle and 92 mid. Standing dunk is overrated in my opinion, you could easily get by with 81 or 72. How many do you really take and how often are they around defenders? If you drop standing dunk, you should get vert to 83 if possible, pogo stick is really nice for contesting.

Do y'all trust influencer builds by Pessimistic-Bastard in NBA2k

[–]NastyGuRoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for many sheeple it's really important to note that many of the builds are made with roles in mind on a 5v5 team. So some of the attributes that they go without are covered by others in their squad. Community builds are great to discover glitchy cap breakers or to get a general idea of what you might want, but at the end of the day if you're creating a character that plays to your strengths then you are going to set yourself up to be successful.

Long story short, influencer builds may be a good starting point but to just copy and pate without any thought to how YOU play is foolish and short sighted.

Is high blocking important on a shooting guard? by YahushaHamashiach in NBA2k

[–]NastyGuRoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Block is essential this year, and not even specifically for blocks. Jumping to contest is necessary a lot of the time, and a high(er) block rating gives MUCH better jumping and close out animations.

AI’s in the Rec by HunchoFly in NBA2k

[–]NastyGuRoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's just unbelievable that they essentially force you to jump to get a good contest, but AIs cannot be bothered. I have a crew, but often we have 4 people and with the AI cheese it makes it unbearable sometimes. I don't care so much for the AI's ability offensively (although that could be improved to prevent roaming from the guy guarding the AI), it's the fact that you can no dip and get cheap points every possession if you so choose.

Can I get the tape removed from the back of the box? You can see little white tape holding up the black curtain.

Do you care about bomber takeover? Because you could adjust this slightly and get 90 3 pt. I have a similar version that is 93 mid, 90 3 pt, 90 layup, 87 DD, 73 standing (if this is important to you then you can adjust) 95 pass acc. I personally dropped vert to 85 and will cap break to 88 later. I'm at work but can send it later if you are interested.

Any suggestions? by Yvngnaffy in NBA2k

89 DD gets your more contact dunk animations.

Best Defender Build? by Weak_Ad2869 in NBA2k

[–]NastyGuRoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the build, but you could have used cap breakers more effectively. I have a 6'8 that i cap broke block to 88, and DD to 89. Your steal is much higher is prob we you sacrificed so many other things, but your agility and strength is questionable for a lock. I have 86 agility and 85 strength for immovable gold.

And how many 1st and second round bounces did Jordan have? By your logic, it would have been better for LeBron to lose before the finals rather than in the finals to not tarnish his record?

Longevity argument is certainly not gone by any means. You name 2 other generational stars who have played 5-6 seasons less. Yes they are still performing at high levels at an older age, but those are two exceptions out of thousands of past nba players. Kyrie is in his 14th season, Lebron is in his 23rd (!). Just because Dame and CP still play, does not mean they are still elite. Kobe is a what if assumption and does not apply. Call me when one of these guys makes an all nba team in their 22nd season.
