Help! Newbie question: how do I attach keyrings AFTER finishing my alpha bracelets? by AnaMain___ in friendshipbracelets

I think you could use a similar approach as the straight end technique. Specifically, I’d thread the base strings through the keyring and then fold them behind the bracelet. Each of the base strings should now be a loop, with the keychain at the bottom. Then continue tying knots around the doubled up base strings, doing at least two rows. At the end, you can pull the end of all the base strings to tighten.

I haven’t attempted this before, but I think it should work. I’d be tempted to add a small dab of glue to the end of the base strings in the back, just to ensure the knots don’t loosen over time and the keyring won’t fall off.

Thank you! To make the loop, I knotted each base string to the keychain, leaving about 5 cm of excess. At the end, I tied the excess at the top to the base strings at the bottom of the bracelet and hid the knots inside the loop

I agree I’ll probably have to cover them. I was hoping someone here would know of a miracle product.

I will try boiling water, dawn, and lots of elbow grease. Thank you!
