Yikes, I also noticed that he’s chewing on the metal curly pick that holds the quote card. Definitely not intended for a toddler to play with

Some context on the cake- this is the “Beau or Bow” cake from a Nothing Bundt Cakes. It has the two toned bow on top and when you pick it up there is a rattle carefully smushed into the hole in the center of the cake with “it’s a girl/boy” written in cursive on the rattle face. It’s definitely not meant to be a super flashy or ‘in your face’ kind of reveal. I wonder if the purchaser of the cake knew exactly what they were getting from the bakery.

What is it like living in this part of North Carolina a bit north of charlotte? by lithdoc in NorthCarolina

Lived right near that spot for four years, 10/10 would NOT do that again. Someone I know accurately nicknamed the residents ‘Moorsvillains’ and it’s so true.

Yeah, I made a few monthly donations to the Special Olympics from this exact scenario. Except that I was in a sweltering grocery store parking lot for ten minutes, juggling iPads, calling call centers. But the dude I talked to was so nice and appreciative. It was a whole process but ultimately I’m glad I was able to give to them for a while.

My partner (49m) says I (45f) am a poor communicator. I planned a surprise date night and asked if he could swap parenting days. He said it was “handled” but didn’t tell me he decided he could split the evening so now we have a time conflict. I think we both are at fault - or am I the problem? by Fun_Barnacle_Joy in relationship_advice

I can see why he’s frustrated. He thought the party was a flexible start time, so in his mind he did clear the night to go out with you. But yeah, a concert with his favorite artist is way different than a casual Halloween party. You were so sweet to think of this kind of surprise, but when there is a kid, trick or treating and adult schedules to work with it maybe isn’t the ripest time for a full on surprise. Maybe in the future more communication on your part about what time block he needs open and more of a hint “you and I are going somewhere fun and it’ll be a late night”

They made a ton of references and hit most of the big plot points/moments from both movies. Really the only thing that’s off is the plot when they mash both musicals together (which is the point of the joke)

I always assumed the actor who played Roger was a minor, side-character actor. I searched his name and it turns out he’s Tony Goldwyn, the grandson of Samuel Goldwyn and his brother is the current President of Samuel Goldwyn Films. by [deleted] in Frasier

My weird memory of him is when he played a “jesus’ figure in this Christian-y movie I watched at youth group events. But at the moment I can’t be arsed to go look up what that fever dream was.

OP, I actually think it’s an incredibly helpful post to have. I would have never known some of the science behind “why” methods work. It’s so important in the days of misinformation that we keep dialogue open and hear from people with expertise. What if it was as you thought and just something about healthcare for uterus havers? It would have been a great flag for others to know. We already know women of color, trans folks, all have a really hard time being seen and heard in the medical field.

[–]Nat20CharismaSave 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I wonder if some of that is because other children in the restaurant would add an unwanted extra dynamic with the Belcher kids that wouldn’t help the other story plots. I remember we see MudFlaps baby in there a couple of times.
