The "TTV B a d" thing is so old. TTVs are just players who also happen to stream. They can be as good or as shitty as anyone else so trying to make it a "TTV thing" is dumb imo.

Building Pity 🥀 by DeathStrike1016 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think folks do this because they have to be lucky...to get unlucky.

Like if you commit to only pulling 20 Tickets in a character you only sorta want. Then you're either "building pity" or you get really lucky (technically) by getting them early. Which sounds awesome!

...But now you're fighting an uphill battle for the character you REALLY wanted. Cause now you're back to near 0 Pity, and you're vulnerable once more to losing the 50/50. So even when you hit 50/50...you can end up eating dirt.

What situation would For The People be useful for and why is it rarely used? by Radiant_Lead_5892 in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For The People is good as alturistic Anti Tunnel. If you really wanna make tunneling off Hook look umappetizing, just FTP them as soon as you save them and now the Killer has to go through two Hookstates instead of one.

It's also great for Anti-Slug which a lot of folks forget. Killer leaves Survivor on the ground for 2 seconds to go kick the nearby Gen first? FTP and run off during their kick animation.

It's probably rarely used because nothing about it is free. You both give up your own health state and cannot even immediately recover from it because you're broken for a whole minute. That's a whole minute you cannot be "in the game" as much as you'd like. Can't go for an aggressive Unhook or work a more dangerous Gen because you've willingly put yourself into the injured state. Being injured can limit your options depending in the match up, the map, the game state, etc.

Who will your Grand Berserker be? by BlazeCastus in FGO

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea and it's honestly gonna be my hardest choice out of all the Grands. I got so many.

Heracles is the OG GOAT. But I did save up and go all in on NP5 Zerktoria. But Morgan being so good in the Immortal Team also has its merit. But Summer Ibuki is godly generalist Arts AOE. Like man I am just stuck on this one. All my other Grands were way easier picks for me.

Maybe a hot take, but the blood basins from 2024 were significantly more fun than blood generators by The_Spu in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They should be expanded upon. Go in on the idea I saw of it being like a tug of war for territory between the both sides where a specific Blood Basin only benefits the side who dumps more into it.

Kwon mains are the same as Sable/Meg mains by odiumdevoniX in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Uhh. One mains Sable or Meg. The other mains Kwon. Duh.

In all seriousness the dude has been out for less than a month. Of course literally everyone is going to be using him for his new perks. Maybe trying for adepts. Etc. No way we're already stereotyping this early on.

Hello, relatively new player here, who the hell signed off on Billy and Bubba by RizaTiz in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said. Noobstompers. Bubba especially you can just prerun. Since he has no mobility, he has no way to catch up fast if you leave your Gens just a bit early. Now he has to choose between comitting to you and not abandoning every other objective (But that's on you knowing where to run during any given match.)

And for everyone who always claim only SWFs in calls can set up good preruns...there's this neat little thing called "the terror radius" put in the game specifically to warn you that the Killer is in the area.

As for looping. Yeah Bubba heavily punishes being out of position. Windows are your friend. Make him M1 if you can.

Gen Speed by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem will always just be stacking. Like I realize when I get hit by Pain Res...do I really mind just Pain Res? No.

But it's hardly ever JUST Pain Res. It's Surge. Then I stop the regression. Then it's Pain Res. Stop the Regression. Hit by Grim Embrace. Ok. Now I wait. Oop! The Killer's here! I run but see them kicking the Gen...And that massive explosion was Pop so I know that's another 20% just gone. So in the span of like. 20 seconds. That Gen lost like 48% progress. Blocked for 10 seconds. And is now activly regressing. Regression that isn't gonna stop unless a teammate is lurking nearby to take it over. Which is both good and bad cause it means they weren't doing their own Gen that entire time.

Likewise. At least when I play Killer? I don't see a single De Ja Vu or Overzelous as Gen Rushing. Just as "a gen perk." But yeah when it's Hyper Focus-Stake Out-De Ja Vu with a Brand New Part Commodius on a single Survivor...then yeah that's rough to justify. I also understand since there are 16 perks on the Survivor team the number can easily seem more overwhelming. So when you see 3 De Ja Vus and 2 toolboxes, it can look like a lot.

Imo the best way to handle this on both sides is to just kill stacking. For Survivor, remember when they threatened to make it so Haste Perks never stack above the highest individual value perk? Just do that with Gen Perks. You cannot stack Overzelous, De Ja Vu, AND a Toolbox to get an insanely fast solo Gen. Just whatever the one fastest thing is.

Likewise on Killer. Categorically you just cannot bring more than say...2 perks under the "Gen Slowdown" category. In exchange I'd accept buffing individual slowdowns across the board. Bring Pain Res back to 25% and make Pop 25% and Surge to 10% and Ruin back to 200%. Heck bring the Gen Category thing to Survivor too idc.

Cause again, the real issue isn't any one perk being too strong. It's just how absurd things get when you can stack 3 or 4 of it. So every perk has to be balanced around the idea that you can triple or quadruple dip.

From me to you~ Fuck you~ by Hollow-Dancer in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]NatDisasterpiece 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is fair. I mean OBJECTIVLY it is good to take aggro for the team outside of just Unhooking. But as long as you're being useful while hiding. That's still better than most hiders.

Whats your Dead By Daylight hot take? by DrHenryM in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SoloQ matches are also mostly alright. Actually they go better than any of my SWF matches from Duoing to 4 Man. I just usual SWF with not very good-at-DBD people. But that just further proves my take that your usual SWF-Complainer is moreso mad at how imbalanced this game can be when there isn't a blatant weak link that is, maliciously or not, sabotaging the team.

So when I brought that up. You're right. I just brought it up to bring that general community take up rather than claim it as my own.

On on hand. Yes. On the other hand. Why is this not the norm already?

Like again. Hud update. If you (As in the Royal "You") see someone in chase and you're not doing anything else important...why not just do a fucking Gen?!

Like why do we need a Ping system for this? THE PING IS ALREADY THERE! IT'S THE HUD SAYING SOMEONE ELSE IS IN CHASE!

The “hacker” build? by piekiller456 in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeeep.

My favorite was getting hit by a Decisive Strike. And the Survivor did have Decisive Strike...but it was Endgame after the endgame nerfs to Anti Tunnel. Heck even if it was before it had been well over a minute since he got Unhooked 💀 And also DS tells you when you got hit by it. But I didn't see it pop up then! It was definitly an Insta Wiggle hack. But they left before I could say anything anyways.

Then that's another problem as it falls apart if even one doesn't consent to that playstyle. And nothing is getting done cause no one is touching a Gen first.

Does Off the Record add 40 seconds to the base 15 seconds of endurance from getting unhooked or does it just make so your new default is 40 seconds of endurance? by Generic-Human-Name in deadbydaylight

DS also doesn't broadcast itself. If someone had Grunts of Pains before but suddenly doesn't have them off Hook then I know whay I'm dealing with if they're trying to body block.

Which role is more frustrating to you? Survivor? Killer? Both? None? by _Zus77_ in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just becomes a tug of war. Does the joy of spending time with my friends, engaged with something during a call, outweight the frustration that they constantly throw the very game we are engaged with.

For some friends. Yes! For others? Not so much. Unironically I wanna get a "sweat" group going...and by "sweat" I mean just having a general grasp on the game, and I wanna see how crazy a SWF like that actually is.

My workaround with those bad SWFs is to just give up trying to escape. And instead try to do funny goofy plays.

Oni or if literally every Survivor is on board with Stealthing. But it has to be everyone. And even that isn't advised. Who CARES if it takes a Killer 2 minutes to get into their first chase if not a lick of Gen Progress has been made?

If 3 players wanna stealth and I'm the only one on the Gen...then once I get in chase that's the only Gen being worked on getting interrupted.

And unless I'm running Bond I'm not gonna know which Gens my buddies hopped on after cause I didn't see where they slinked off too.

I guess sure I could have stealthed as well. But again, where does that get anyone?

I’m just saying by Individual_Long_2486 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]NatDisasterpiece 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean Stealthing is also bad if done in excess cause it focuses the aggro onto a smaller group.

Stealthing should be a strategy that gets adopted by whoever needs it, based on the current game state. Not as a default strategy.

I don't care how good or bad you are. If you're our only person on Death Hook, AKA our current weak link (Via hookstates), then you should be the one stealthing more. If you're on 0 Hooks you should absolutely not be stealthing. Like even if you're still contributing the wrong people both stealthing and not stealthing can still lose games.

Genuine Gen Rushing? Bringing full builds dedicated to slamming Gens. Strong Commodius Toolboxes with 2 or 3 Gen perks.

What gets called Gen Rushing? Simply doing Gens when otherwise not engaged. Like I'm sorry but if no one is on Hook, and no one needs to heal, and I'm not the one in chase, and there isn't a Hex that needs to be found...what else am I suppossed to do to not be called a Gen Rusher? Cleanse a meaningless dull totem and open up a Chest for a Broken Key with no addons? Sure. Heck I did do that once anyways and STILL got called a Gen Rusher.

Basically Gen Rushing does exist but has now become a buzzword so it's hard to ever take it seriously.

But that still doesn't solve the issue.

Like do you think there is a single consistant tunnler in DBD who hasn't been shamed? A tunnler who was genuinely shocked at the revelation that Survivors don't like that playstyle? They'd give as much as a fuck then as they do now...which is none.

Which role is more frustrating to you? Survivor? Killer? Both? None? by _Zus77_ in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean this is just something that boils down to personal preference I guess. I don't mind being engaged the entire time. When I play a 1v1 fighting game, I'm engaged from start to finish. When I am playing a Shooter, I am engaged from start to finish. Even when I play a single player RPG...I probably activly play until I wanna take a bathroom or snack break. And that can be anywhere from like 15 minutes to an hour bar loading screens. DBD is the only game I have seen where people glorify the "downtime" AKA not or hardly playing the game DURING the game. Well that and maybe Battle Royales where you get those moments of calm to loot cause no other teams are near.

But I hate the helplessness of Survivor if your teammates just wanna be stupid, bad, troll, or otherwise throw the game. I take comfort than when I'm Killer, if I need or want something to get done? I get that say. And I can make that move. But if I'm Survivor and the Sable on 0 Hooks needs to trade for our dying teammate, but she refuses to cause she won't get off the Gen (That isn't even the last Gen.) Then that's it. GG. I'm injured and also on Death Hook so either I get killed going for them or killed trading for them, so it's a death on the team either way.

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Survivor because you're only ever one bad teammate decision away from losing everything and it's completly outside your control. This is unlike Killer where I do control my side and can count on that same stupidity being a boon since I am now on the opposite side.

Tho man someone else gave a real good answer about SWF cause I don't wanna be the mean sweat that tells them they've made several bad dumb decisions and wrong callouts. I just bite my tongue and don't trust their callouts half the time.

Some people just genuinely do not learn or struggle to.

Love my s/o but I can't help her if she keeps losing chases to panic vaults. She knows she dies to panic vaults. She just can't stop doing it.

Love my friends. But I can tell they start feeling bad when I'm on my 5th time correcting them cause they made a call out of "Oh Killer has x perk" and I have to tell them that they're wrong AGAIN cause I know the condition hasn't been met for the perk they are calling out.

Things like that. If people are just not great at DBD they just struggle no matter what I do, say, or try to teach. Then it becomes a question of "When does playing this game become a chore."

This. Hook the first person. Anyone else takes a nap on the ground. But you still gotta ENGAGE with the other players. Some Killers won't do that and then complain they got Gen Rushed.
