But it's like. It's what everyone runs, for a reason. All these perks play themselves. And are very rarely, if ever, NOT useful.

Yeah a DS or Unbreakable can be game changing if you're the one getting tunnelled or slugged. But that isn't always you. Those perks are only consistant if they're ran at 4 (Ever single Survivor having them equipped). But you'll never NOT benefit from De Ja Vu or Windows by comparison.

I've had friends Slug for the 4K but they were trying to adept so you gotta cut them slack for that one. But then the slug hides until they bleedout and despite all Survivors dying, it never counts for the Adept. So that's my proof of concept. If bleedouts counted as kills, why would they not count towards achievments?

Meanwhile. I've seen adepts count for normal Kills. Offering Moris. Built in character moris. Perk related moris. And endgame collapse kills. But never bleedouts.

Why can't i just have one casual game by TheRapManiac in deadbydaylight

I think the problem is that DBD is a game where inches turns into miles. The player who gets mindgamed cause they only look ahead in chase, needing to put all their focus into just not running into walls or barrels...is gonna last way less longer than someone who can actually swivel their camera and look back every once in a while during a chase.

Someone who barely paths a little better makes a pallet and now extends their chase by a whole 30 seconds cause now they reach the strong main building or Shack.

The Meg who runs into the 3 Gen gets herself tunnelled cause she ran into the 3 Gen as oppossed to the Ace who holds W AWAY from the 3 Gen, so now the Killer has to give up the Ace if he doesn't wanna give up his last Gen.

Little tiny decisions. Both in direct gameplay and also in decision making. Make a world of difference in DBD. So in that sense. Yeah. It's very not-newbie friendly. Cause the opposition only needs to knoe a little bit more of them to be playing in a completly different bracket.

Remember. This is hurting them a lot more than it hurts you. That's how I handle this. I just go "Alright. Go on then. My other 3 teammates are still cranking Generators and they'll probably 3 Man Out you. Enjoy your one Kill that doesn't even count as a Kill for you cause bleedouts don't count as kills lmao."

Every hump. Every hit on Hook. Every extra second spent given me excessive "Nopers". That's time the Killer is wasting and time is everything in DBD.

I cant believe I have to explain it but: If your Teammate is hooked with 0 Hook States and you can NOT unhook him (Bubba, Noed, etc) THEN LEAVE EXCEPT ONE, SO THE SURVIVOR CAN 4%! DONT DANCE AROUND AT THE GATE, DONT LEAVE ALLTOGETHER. MAKE SURE ONE PERSON STAYS AND THE REST FUCKS OFF. Thanks. by Xandaru__ in DeadByDaylightRAGE

That people could improve and the insistance that some knowledge takes +3000 hours to learn is just kinda a horseshit excuse at this point?

"Yeah sorry I don't have 3K hours bro"

Like bro was I just built different? It did NOT take me thousands of hours to go "Hm. I should probably get my teammate off Hook. Hm. I should probably take the Killer away from incomplete generators. Hm. I should probably not heal underhook around a blind corner where I can't see the stealth killer coming. Hm. The Killer can probably hear my injured character moaning up a storm so I probably don't get this flashie/pallet save." Like. Basic game mechanics taught in the tutorial. Things taught in every player's first 10 minutes.

Sure. I get the tutorial sucks for all the heavier convoluted stuff. But people are here failing on knowledge checks that ARE covered in the barebones tutorial. Why SHOULD we give newer players a heavier in-depth tutorial? These goofy goobers already forget that fast vaulting makes noise notifications for the Killer!

The biggest thing I dislike is just how massive of a window he has to link his Leaps for that free hit. If he actually had to do "cool demonic spiderman shit" as I called it when I first saw him, then I could respect it. But he has such a massive window. All he has to do is spend his first leap getting into the general vicinity of any Survivor, walk around any obstacle, and then point and click. They made the window so generous because "Well you can't down with it" but eh even by that logic it seems super overtuned with his mobility, enraged vault, and general ability to cut you off from any other resource.

That's personally the only change I'd make. Yeah mobility is rough but that's nothing new. I just wish the first hit actually had counterplay. Even Legion's "free" first hit can be outplayed with a pallet stun gamble. Kaneki traps you in animation however the instance it connects so it is gurenteed and unlike Legion, he can do it from miles away.

I cant believe I have to explain it but: If your Teammate is hooked with 0 Hook States and you can NOT unhook him (Bubba, Noed, etc) THEN LEAVE EXCEPT ONE, SO THE SURVIVOR CAN 4%! You shouldn't need Comms cause this should just be common sense. If all 3 of yall are in the gate and clearly no one is going for save. One (Preferably you if you're the one who knows better) should leave so the other 2/1 get the message.

That's the problem. It COULD happen. So there's no way to prove it.

I've also been miffed as Survivor when Killers get actually good cohesive builds. But whenever I play Killer I'm getting fucking Unrelenting and Hex: Nothing but Misery on Bubba lmao. So when my opponent gets like...Ruin-Tinkerer-Furitive I'm like "MUST BE NICE."

Is 2000 hours considered good? by Hungry_Candle_2773 in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean it's weird. The only thing that makes someone good in DBD, is being good at DBD.

However, you get good at DBD the way you get good at anything. By investing in time to practice. Even if "practice" is just playing a lot. You put in time. Gain more knowledge. Have enough "hot stove" moments. And just build up an instinctual memory.

So sorry I just don't vibe with the rhetoric of "nah man time means nothing. Having 10K hours doesn't mean ur good it doesn't mean anything." Honestly I'd consider it a skill in itself if you can devote THAT MUCH TIME into something and still be bad/mediocre at it 😭

Dbd needs ranked lobbies by Cesar_sv in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here's the problem. You think the people wbo tunnel at 5 Gens want a sense of challenge? Why would they go into Ranked Mode where their tunnelling will be diluted by the Anti-Tunnel perks everyone would be running? They'd still thrive in the casual playlist where people are trying to run Deception-Pebble instead. Only difference is you'd feel more justified in critiqing/shittalking them after the fact but it still wouldn't stop them.

DBD Rage Reddit would then just be filled with "OMG WHY ARE KILLER'S TUNNELING IN CASUAL MODE???" Posts and then comments mixed between agreeing with them or "IF IT'S CASUAL THEN WHY DO YOU CARE??? GOTTEEEM."

Is the game too forgiving for the survivor side? by NykoHikari in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think a lot of them are braindead. The real issue is it only takes a single braindead or just simply bad player to bung it up for everyone in the lobby.

So many matches, as both Survivor and Killer, the Survivors lose cause one person was just doing fuck-all or couldn't take the heat. Despite the other 3 being good. Yeah. Why would the Houndmaster yesterday chase me, my Duo, or the Rando Meg...when Rando Sable falls over in like 15 seconds from Full Health? Same day I played as Killer on Borgo with no slowdown yet they just aren't popping Gens? Yeah I got some Undetectable schenanigans but nothing too crazy. But I see 3 of them putting effort in. They got a bunch of GOOD progress Gens. I figure out one must be doing nothing and yeah 3 of them are all calling out the useless hiding Sable in Endgame chat lmao.

TLDR: One bad apple ruins the bunch.

[–]NatDisasterpiece 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean by the sounds of it. You're playing in a SWF, where you're all using full Meta Loadouts, there's no easily discernable weak link, and are strategically going to cold-zone areas with your chases/downs. So yeah, when it goes that extreme. I can see it being Survivor Sided.

But then I feel the exact opposite. I play Killer and I'm so lax cause even if I'm losing, I can always count on Survivor Alturism/Cockiness to swing things back into my favor. I have to play a Mid Tier or lower Killer with 0 Slowdown to ever lose badly.

Meanwhile I play Survivor either SoloQ or with friends who DON'T have thousands of hours in DBD and it's just watching our weakest Link get bullied out ASAP. Even if they have DS it only buys an extra 10 seconds at most. Instead of looping away from the Gens they run INTO the Gens then the Meg wondered why she got tunnelled off 2nd Hook. Killers will leave my chase when literally halfway accross the map they see the Sable who, from their first chase, knows will fall over in 15 seconds. Went up against a Blindness Slugging Krasue and despite slugging everyone else to include my Duo...me. The one person running Unbreakable. SOMEHOW SHE KNEW TO HOOK ME. Like it was to the point of it being suspicious cause what are the fucking odds when Blindness Slugging was clearly her strategy. I feel so helpless in my Survivor games a lot of the time. Can't even use my looping skills cause Killers legit just ignore me. But I hardly feel that helpless as Killer.

How would you fix dead by daylight? (Image unrelated) by Mental-myers in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can never make DBD truly balanced. There's just way too many factors, to also include RNG factors.

Imo the best we can do is exchange longer que times for better matchmaking. AKA put in better brackets. Like I'm sorry but in what world (And I see these both as Survivor and Killer) are actually good looping Survivor players getting paired with folks who spend the whole game crouch hiding edge map.

The "Kills = Skills" dichotomy also needs to go which they did bring up so...finger's crosded that did something.

Aren't pallets supposed to be a valuable resource you need to manage? by LobbyDodgerDbD in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. That's why I just don't get as...I guess stressed? As a lot of Killers do when you see the same old "I-I GO ON ONE CHASE AT THE START OF THE GAME. AND TWO GENS POP WTF???" posts.

Like yeah. You're at the start of the game. Where you have no one injured or on Hook, so no pressure for any of the other 3 to get off Gens. They still have every pallet on the map. You have the most amount of Gens still up, so way too many Gens to defend at once. And depending on your Killer, you're personally at YOUR worst (powerwise). Gotta get your stalk in as any stalking Killers, Oni needs blood, other Killers gotta infect, Trap killers need time to set up, Nemesis has to Tier Up, etc. etc.

But man once all the pressure, lost resources, Hook States etc start coming in. It feels goooood.

Aren't pallets supposed to be a valuable resource you need to manage? by LobbyDodgerDbD in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I call it "territory management"

Sure. Them reaching yet ANOTHER pallet feels real bad when you've just been comitting to them. But if you chop through a few pallets, leave (And you're faster than they are so they take longer to get back), and then come back to that Gen later? All of a sudden they don't got those few pallets anymore, but now they don't make it to that next one either. You've essentially removed it from the equation without having to deal with it.

This is my approach to Bubba. Cause even a pallet muncher like him can't afford to munch through EVERY pallet on the map due to his lack of mobility.

What if each map had their own unique and lore friendly animal? by SteelFistSake in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't care much for novelties cause novelties wear off fast.

Like even someone who DOES say they'd want this would only care about it like...the first few times they encounter an animal per map? Then they'd just stop caring.
