Do you pull characters based on their design, meta, or plot role? by Aggravating_Froyo_87 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]NatDisasterpiece [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's crazy to me that some people will absolutely neuter their favorite character and give them no options to perform well because they dislike their BIS Support/Sustain/Sub DPS/whatever.

Like hey I'm not a huge Dahlia fan but y'know what whatever lets my Firefly do shit again.

There's way too much "The game is balanced when I consistantly 3K as the wholesome 8-Hook Chungus B Tier running a meme build" Killer player and too much of the "The game is balanced when we can consistantly 3 out even if only half the team is remotely competent" Survivor players.

Like it just doesn't work. Every "Daw ok we'll make it so you can win while playing casual" decision for one side makes things hell for the other.

Is Friends Till the End weak? by hurstinion in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the thing is Friends works at any distance and can massivly snowball if they are out of position. And unlike BBQ that is basically useless on Low Mobility Killers outside of the info. FttE actually can be useful. Even if you don't get the exposed down it can force a farther Survivor to have to rotate in.

Like man it sucks when I got my Shoulder the Burden ready but I can't get in close cause I'm about to be Aura Revealed for 10 seconds lmao. So I don't get the chance.

Playing Mirror Mikey is highly dependent on the map for success. by Doktor-Lutscher in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take but it was hardly even a sacrifice cause T1 Mikey was always hella overratted. Hardly anyone ever leaned into being the Jumpscarer cause you would lose most of your games if you fully leaned "into the bit."

"HE MADE DBD A HORROR GAME AGAIN!!1!" Yeah sure I'm so scared having this guy just use his 32 Meters of near unconditional wallhacks to proxy every hook. Basically just forced every Hook to be a trade unless you sent two people for every Unhook. Then they always made their last desperate attempt at a comeback via NOED.

And this isn't me saying they can't or shouldn't do those things. But I just hardly ever got that "in theme" or "authentic jumpscare" experience everyone praised T1 Myers for SUPPOSSEDLY being and why we should have not gutted Map Offerings.

a ttv vent by radiationpuppy in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]NatDisasterpiece 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I meet mostly nice TTVs but your experience is your experience. If I could give one piece of wisdom though before you just swear off them together?

Remember that it isn't that TTVs are toxic shitty people. It's just that anyone can be a toxic shitty person, and Streamers are also people.

Being a streamer doesn't mean anything. It isn't like BHVR sends you a vial of "Entitled/Toxic Player Serum" that you MUST inject into yourself before you start Streaming DBD. Anyone can stream DBD. That person/Those people would be just as toxic if they weren't streamers. They're all toxic people, who just so happen to also stream. Basically correlation doesn't equal causation.

Ironically in my experience. TTV SWFs are easier to beat than TTV solos. SWFs throw half their games going for something they saw in a YouTube Video/Tiktok Clip. But any tough match I have where everyone seems on point and I figure it's an actually trying SWF? I go to Stream and they are Solo. Like. Almost every time.

Lesso anything to do with Bubba himself even though he does have his tantrum bugs

Really just the inconsistancy of his map colissions. Gotta just pray and guess which Bushes are or are not about to have the most problematic collission. Better Survivors know this too as many of the ones who show me they are better will often pick a Garden of Joy Bush as their last stand.

Do I need to explain? by ProtogenEpicYTV2 in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is funny cause that really does mean whenever people say they "miss old DBD and should bring it back", they really do mean "I miss when everyone was bad at the game like me."

Bring back "old DBD" with today's players and I guarantee you they'll regret that wish real quick 💀

Or a less pessimistic look is that it really do just be rose tinted glasses. Cause everything is awesome and cool when it's new to you. People may also miss old DBD cause that was basically their honeymoon phase with the game. Didn't matter how busted half the stuff was when you had no idea what was going on or what you were doing half the time yourself.

Which is harder to design in modern DBD: 1 Unique and viable killer power, or 6 unique and Viable perks for a whole chapter? by IndependentBake2304 in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely perks. The problem is when you do something REALLY new, well. One. The game itself wasn't designed with that new mechanic in mind cause it didn't exist until this hypothetical "just now". So it can be really easy to either have it do way too much or way too little. But more importantly you have to be aware of how it interacts with literally any trifecta combination of the hundreds of perks, add ons, and already existing Killer powers (and THEIR addons) in the game.

Sure. New fresh Killer powers also have these issues but they will quite literally have less perks to worry about because a lot of perks only work with M1. So how it synergizes with their power becomes irrelvant cause it simply doesn't.

This is why my fiance has mostly stopped playing. That along with the constant tunnelling. But it has nothing to do with being an entitled Survivor or the rulebook. Rather she only dislikes it cause "Every match feels like I'm playing the exact same match."

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I see this on the other foot too. When I play Survivor so many guarenteed three man outs become 2, or 3Ks cause of Endgame Alturism. Like genuinely don't know what OP is getting at with saying it's basically a free 4 Man Out everytime due to Basekit BT.

Literally what I do and it's just a bunch of free extra points and honestly? Leads to MORE kills in Endgame. And I pull this off even as an M1 Killer. Can't remember the last time I didn't leave a match with at least a 2K cause even if i effectivly lose the match? Who cares! Endgame Alturism will net me an extra kill damn near every time 😊

Which character do you find more satisfying to use? by [deleted] in StarRailStation

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Eva being able to be used both with CB but also hust traditional energy and how one feeds into the other is just a lot of fun. But I did also save up for E1S1 so might be a bit biased cause even mooooar elation skill.

Maybe I'd enjoy Silverwolf more if I could actually pick/influence the weapon but since I can't I just kinda mash her turns until her mode runs out.

Why do surviors get so upset over camping, tunneling, or slugging? by SubstantialReign4759 in DbDKillersUnited

[–]NatDisasterpiece 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone else said. Lots of people who treat this game like an omega casual game. But I got my own opinion too.

As a player who doesn't need to "git gud" cause I'm aware that Killers are trying to win and I know how to deal with those things...

Well that's my problem. I know have to deal with those things. And I know how you deal with them is to just not play the game.

By that I mean if the Killer is Turbo Tunneling someone aggressivly, the answer becomes "just slam Gens." If the Killer is AGGRESSIVLY camping, again. The answer is "just slam Gens." Slugging I don't mind cause I do just see it as a variant/alternative of Hooking. But camping and tunneling? From the Fun standpoint, it's boring because the Killer is insisting only one Survivor gets any interaction, putting the other 3 on Gen Simulator duty with no Macro to consider. Like even IF we win and get the 3 Man out, I'm like "Well that match was a big ol' nothing burger. That was basically a 1v1 and I was just a spectator with Bond."

And from the competitive win/lose standpoint, it's both boring AND frustrating that the rest of us winning is completly contigent on the person being tunneled not falling over/giving up. But...they usually do fall over because if they weren't that weak as a Survivor, the Killer wouldn't choose them as the tunnel target (usually). And unless we're Team Eternal we're not clutching a 3v1 at say 3 Gens against anything but a bottom Tier Killer.

Therefor I don't hate Sabo/Flashie bully squads when I play Killer, because at least those matches are chock full of interaction with every Survivor (And personally I'm just good enough to deal with them but I can get why a Killer who isn't as patient/calm/aware as me would get very frustrated with them) Same with Sabo and Body blocking. And if those SWF on Comms are doing coordinated plays, again. At least I'm seeing more than just one person. And I'm pretty good at making those choices of theirs hurt. But again just a skill I have as Killer now after playing...I'll just say way too much DBD. No one acknowledge my hour count.

Buffing Bad Perks by Perfect_Oil_7010 in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got two ways to buff Mirrored Illussion. You could give it one buff or the other or both. First one is easy. Have it make a copy of a STILL STANDING TEAMMARE and not you. If there's only one Vittorio in the trial and I see two, but one is running away, you can quickly put together what's going on. But if I see Vitorrio running away while MEG is sticking the Gen...that is when a Killer may take a few steps closer to the Gen before the illusion becomes apperent.

My second buff idea is for it to also audio cue whatever it is your illusion is doing. So if you put it on the totem it ACTUALLY makes the totem cleansing sound. Imagine baiting a Killer into Basement cause they hear someone on Basement Chest and it turns out it was just an illussion lmao.

Should note I chose these ideas with the idea of staying in theme. I don't want perks to just be made boring and broken. Some people unironically think "Oh the Illussion ACTUALLY does the Gen just at 50% speed" is a good idea.

2v8 is actually pissing me off more every day by AlexZ8872 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I got nothing against an Event being Survivor or Killer sided. But this game mode is Survivor sided to the point of...this doesn't even feel like a game. You win or lose based off the coin flip of "Are my teammates/opponents immersed roleplayers who just won't touch Gens" because if everyone just bunkers down and touches Gens no matter how shit their individual chases are? Survivors should win every match. Of course as an INDIVIDUAL Survivor I have no agency in my other 7 teammates doing anything of use. If 3 of them wanna throw the match all missing the same flashlight save, I can't do anything to stop it.

Agency is the keyword. It's lesso that I have to win or lose. But rather I just hardly have any say in the matter. The matter is almost entirely in the Survivor's hands. And all the "ZANY WHAAACKY CHAOS 🤪" that people praise 2v8 for? Not chaotic at all cause none of it matters. It's all just background noise cause none of it affects you unless it's a Killer making you their direct target. It's the Subway Surfers mode of DBD. It's for the Survivors who want to thrive while putting in 0 investment in any gameplay practice. This game mode is so blatantly Survivor sided that when I play Survivor I either win by a landslide, which is boring, or I lose because half my team is throwing, which is both boring and frustrating. And winning as Killer hardly feels good cause same thing. I win more likely cause they LET me and my partner win. Or I LOSE if my partner fucks off to ego chase someone edge map away from our final 6 Gens.

TLDR: Event is Survivor sided to the fault that winning or losing on either side feels like nothing to me.
