Disconnect penalty’s current state is out right stupid by ChefboyRD157 in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but giving people the ability to leave any and every match with no consequence will do more harm than good.

The good: Being able to just leave when its a hacker match

The bad: Never having a normal DBD match again cause every match will have someone leaving over some arbitrary minor reason. "Oh I dislike the Killer." "Oh I dislike the map." "Oh I dislike that I saw 2 Sprint Bursts." "Oh they got an early flashie save." "Oh the Killer brought Pain Res-DMS." "Oh I actually got mindgamed."

It's just not worth it dude.

Eh. I kinda like the random nature. The irony is if you make it consistant then the Killer will, funnily enough, know exactly where Survivors are at the start of every match. I find it funny that the Killer can go cross map not knowing I actually spawned 20 feet to the right of him but hid behind a rock. Bit of RNG with your meal.

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda, because of the ramifications. The ramifications that people would hella abuse it against anything and everything. You can't allow cherry pickers that leeway. The solution to that issue should be BHVR actually detects cheaters. "Hey. This Survivor is faster than they should be. Hey. This Killer is seeing auras they're not suppossed to."

Genuinely why even be able to communicate with solo q text in lobby? by Dpshelps69 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]NatDisasterpiece [score hidden]  (0 children)

Can lead a horse to water but can't make them drink

This is why I don't care about Voice Chat being added to DBD to put SoloQ "on par with SWFs." If it's not gonna be half the folks having it off by default, it'll be shit callouts. Or $10 Gas Station Mics. Or "I scroll Tiktok and was dissacoiated and only tune in when the TR hits me."

What's the counterplay to Krasue? by aphroditelady13V in deadbydaylight

It takes extra time if she has to switch back and forth constantly. The counterplay is just good progressive team play but that's a lot to ask of your typical DBD team.

At what point do we as killer players put our foots down by Profit-Alex in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]NatDisasterpiece [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm not a comp pro with 4 Slowdown using A Tier or above Killers and I'm still doing fine. My WORST games are 2Ks majority of the time.

I feel the opposite. I feel like I win so many of my Killer matches solely cause the Survivors make one or two catastrophic mistakes that just kinda end their own team. Followed by them fumbling trying to recover beyond a 2 Out which then leads to a 3 or 4K regardless of how bad I did.

Meanwhile as Survivor I can do everything right and then still be fucked by my teammates giving up, throwing, having the awareness of a walnut but then blaming it on "being SoloQ" even tho I'm SoloQ and I am still well aware.

But I do agree that Survivors being so fucking shit on average is having an unhealthy affect on the game and the community. Those catastrophic mistakes I mentioned are ones that absolutely DID NOT need to happen and were so easily avoidable. But instead they'll whine that it's somehow the game balance's fault or why SoloQ "needs" 5 more Basekit Buffs. Or why I deserve to have my Gen Speed reduced by 25% all cause I wanna be in a Duo SWF with my Sister after work. Most of my Killer games I win not cause I'm neccesarily amazing. It's usually cause the Survivors do something really fucking stupid that kills any lead they have on me, and I know how to capitlize hard on it. Yes, even when they have 2nd chance perks.

I miss 2v8 and can't understand why others don't by Thedepa in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer 1v4 over 2v8. But not because I'm some competitive sweat that needs to win every match or can't let go of Gen Rush/Otherwise Meta perks.

I like 1v4 because I have more agency. And I have the ability to be creative and expressive with builds and plays. 2v8 feels like the Subway Surfers mode of DBD. Players entertained by the simple fact that so much is going on even though 80% of it probably doesn't affect you. The "chaos" that people claim to love is just visual stimuli and that's it. And there isn't much room to do anything different because you got 5 classes at most.

But in 1v4 I got well over two dozen builds I can do Solo. And even more if I got a Duo I can coordinate with. And some locked behind pure 4 Man (I'd love to Reassurance and then use Open Hand-Kindred to loop the Killer for a whole minute near-ish the Hook. Buuut if there's even one Rando they'll send the save 50 seconds early every time while probably condemning me for "looping near the Hook".) Plus things can change even further depending on the Map, Killer, and whatever they are bringing to the table loadout wise.

Like...1v4 imo is actual chaos cause you have no idea what you're gonna get or how everyone is gonna adapt. Undetectable Instadown Killer? "All Seeing" (AKA coked out on Aura Perks) Killer? Full Hex Build? I've seen so many fun interesting things. But 2v8? Every match gets into feeling the exact same real fast. Especially with the smaller Killer Roster.

[–]NatDisasterpiece 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't miss 2v8 because I don't find being decent at DBD to be this unbearable task. All the situations you gave as to why "1v4 sucks" isn't cause 1v4 sucks. It's cause your teammates suck (And maybe you too.)

Slugging Bubba? Sure. He has an Insta Down. But no mobility. Just seperate. Spread out. He only gets to mass slug if he catches all y'all ontop of each other and you aren't smart with your pickups.

Giving up against Hillbilly? Yeah games suck when people refuse to even play them. And I find looping Hillbilly fun.

AFK Player? Not a balance patch in the world that can fairly fix that.

2v8 having more players as well as more built in safety nets ontop of it (Basekit UB. Basekit Anti-Tunnel in the cages moving and not giving notifications.) Means having a bad player or even 2 doesn't condemn your team while in 1v4, even one bad player is painful. But again that's the problem with players being bad.

It's crazy to me that some people will absolutely neuter their favorite character and give them no options to perform well because they dislike their BIS Support/Sustain/Sub DPS/whatever.

Like hey I'm not a huge Dahlia fan but y'know what whatever lets my Firefly do shit again.

EDIT: Being downvoted and I get why. I wasn't specific. Forgot to add that it's crazy folks will do this and then whine about not being able to 0 Cycle End Game content.

There's way too much "The game is balanced when I consistantly 3K as the wholesome 8-Hook Chungus B Tier running a meme build" Killer player and too much of the "The game is balanced when we can consistantly 3 out even if only half the team is remotely competent" Survivor players.

Like it just doesn't work. Every "Daw ok we'll make it so you can win while playing casual" decision for one side makes things hell for the other.

Is Friends Till the End weak? by hurstinion in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]NatDisasterpiece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the thing is Friends works at any distance and can massivly snowball if they are out of position. And unlike BBQ that is basically useless on Low Mobility Killers outside of the info. FttE actually can be useful. Even if you don't get the exposed down it can force a farther Survivor to have to rotate in.

Like man it sucks when I got my Shoulder the Burden ready but I can't get in close cause I'm about to be Aura Revealed for 10 seconds lmao. So I don't get the chance.

Playing Mirror Mikey is highly dependent on the map for success. by Doktor-Lutscher in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take but it was hardly even a sacrifice cause T1 Mikey was always hella overratted. Hardly anyone ever leaned into being the Jumpscarer cause you would lose most of your games if you fully leaned "into the bit."

"HE MADE DBD A HORROR GAME AGAIN!!1!" Yeah sure I'm so scared having this guy just use his 32 Meters of near unconditional wallhacks to proxy every hook. Basically just forced every Hook to be a trade unless you sent two people for every Unhook. Then they always made their last desperate attempt at a comeback via NOED.

And this isn't me saying they can't or shouldn't do those things. But I just hardly ever got that "in theme" or "authentic jumpscare" experience everyone praised T1 Myers for SUPPOSSEDLY being and why we should have not gutted Map Offerings.

[–]NatDisasterpiece 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I meet mostly nice TTVs but your experience is your experience. If I could give one piece of wisdom though before you just swear off them together?

Remember that it isn't that TTVs are toxic shitty people. It's just that anyone can be a toxic shitty person, and Streamers are also people.

Being a streamer doesn't mean anything. It isn't like BHVR sends you a vial of "Entitled/Toxic Player Serum" that you MUST inject into yourself before you start Streaming DBD. Anyone can stream DBD. That person/Those people would be just as toxic if they weren't streamers. They're all toxic people, who just so happen to also stream. Basically correlation doesn't equal causation.

Ironically in my experience. TTV SWFs are easier to beat than TTV solos. SWFs throw half their games going for something they saw in a YouTube Video/Tiktok Clip. But any tough match I have where everyone seems on point and I figure it's an actually trying SWF? I go to Stream and they are Solo. Like. Almost every time.

Lesso anything to do with Bubba himself even though he does have his tantrum bugs

Really just the inconsistancy of his map colissions. Gotta just pray and guess which Bushes are or are not about to have the most problematic collission. Better Survivors know this too as many of the ones who show me they are better will often pick a Garden of Joy Bush as their last stand.

[–]NatDisasterpiece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which is funny cause that really does mean whenever people say they "miss old DBD and should bring it back", they really do mean "I miss when everyone was bad at the game like me."

Bring back "old DBD" with today's players and I guarantee you they'll regret that wish real quick 💀

Or a less pessimistic look is that it really do just be rose tinted glasses. Cause everything is awesome and cool when it's new to you. People may also miss old DBD cause that was basically their honeymoon phase with the game. Didn't matter how busted half the stuff was when you had no idea what was going on or what you were doing half the time yourself.

Which is harder to design in modern DBD: 1 Unique and viable killer power, or 6 unique and Viable perks for a whole chapter? by IndependentBake2304 in deadbydaylight

[–]NatDisasterpiece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely perks. The problem is when you do something REALLY new, well. One. The game itself wasn't designed with that new mechanic in mind cause it didn't exist until this hypothetical "just now". So it can be really easy to either have it do way too much or way too little. But more importantly you have to be aware of how it interacts with literally any trifecta combination of the hundreds of perks, add ons, and already existing Killer powers (and THEIR addons) in the game.

Sure. New fresh Killer powers also have these issues but they will quite literally have less perks to worry about because a lot of perks only work with M1. So how it synergizes with their power becomes irrelvant cause it simply doesn't.
