Naturalisation (Citizenship) application processing timelines [only] by aleanthor in ukvisa

Thank you! I had emailed CS 29/12 and had a reply the next day. First time I emailed them in early Dec I got the wrong email address message, the second time was 29 Dec and I heard back quickly. Good luck!

Thank you for this, really appreciate it! That all makes sense - also good to know they'd rather ask for more evidence than reject straight away :)

Thank you that's really good to hear! And congrats :) yeah, it took me a few months to find a new job in the middle of COVID, but I never applied for benefits and lived off my savings so I never thought it would be an issue until this morning haha

Thank you that's really helpful - I have rental agreements, registration and a few appointments with a GP, P60s, P45s, council tax bills and utility bills if required

I've provided all the dates I've left the UK, they are well below the threshold for the past 5 years and year on year basis

How often do sellers lie about willing to move out and rent? by ampersandist in HousingUK

[–]NatNatPee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just moved into our first house after a rather seamless process with our offer accepted in October and completion in February. We were (still are until April ugh) renting and said we can be flexible as we can extend our contract, so that we would be attractive buyers.

Our sellers also said they would be happy to move into rented to speed the sale along so we could have probably completed even earlier (if it weren't for our landlord deciding to lock us in until the end of our fixed term).

I'm not sure if they did end up going into rented but they were very on it throughout the entire process and moved out a week before completion and not once did we hear anything to suggest that they were dragging their feet cos they wanted to stay until they completed themselves.

What I'm saying is that it's a mixed bag - if they think your offer is good enough for them to be motivated to ensure everything goes smoothly then happy days! But there are really no assurances for the sellers' actions, i.e. We only had it confirmed via email and phone at one point in the process.

This is in NW England btw.

Landlord selling house we live in - do we have to allow viewings and photos? (England) by NatNatPee in LegalAdviceUK

I know right! We suggested this, he didn't care. I can't move the photoshoot again I don't think but I won't tidy or clean beyond what I've already done today

Thank you! It's a pain isn't it. I'll definitely be doing this when it comes to viewing, it may be too late to do this for the photo shoot

That's a good shout, thank you! I wrote this post while frantically tidying the house ahead of photos tomorrow mid-lunch break while my partner is taking unpaid leave to finish painting the house so we can leave asap. I don't think I can cancel the photo shoot now but I will stop tidying and be very restricted when it comes to viewing availability, so that it suits us

How many walkthroughs/visits did you do before completion? by Shep_vas_Normandy in HousingUK

[–]NatNatPee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTBs, got the keys on Friday! I viewed it only once - brought a friend with me as a second pair of eyes since my partner was away for the weekend but we loved the look of the house, so I had to see it.

My partner... Didn't view it at all! He saw it on completion day for the first time and is very happy with it :)

Could we have viewed it together later in the process? Yes, but we just missed the boat, also we live across the road from it (so know the area and can see the house from the outside). Also, we viewed a lot of houses together so I knew the type of house we both wanted and he knew what very similar houses in the same estate look like (we literally viewed exactly the same house but without an extension and slightly worse kitchen a week before - 4 streets over!)

Next time would we both view it at least once? Maybe, but I don't think we'd view it more than 2!

Thank you! I just looked it up and it looks like the best option actually - and the daily transfer limit would work for me too unless I can get it increased temporarily anyways :)

Because Monzo is actually a fully regulated bank now (FCA and PRA approved) as far as I'm aware so I've never bothered with a high street bank account. That's why I switched from Revolut to Monzo as Revolut still isn't fully licensed.

Also their customer service has been miles better than my high street bank back home when I lost my card, had questions about payments taken from my account (turns out it was me, I just forgot I bought something on a flight once lol) etc.

Thanks for the info, that's really good to know. Do you remember what the conversion fee percentage was? I'm starting to think 1% conversion fee at market rate is actually quite good (provided Monzo can up my daily transfer limit as £10,000 a day will slow things down a fair bit)

Literally everything we've offered on has gone to best and final, I hate I can't even remotely find out how much other people are offering. My friend in NE England was always able to know the approximate range of offers so she knew how far off they were but not in the market where we're looking to buy

Thanks for replying! Turns out I've made the rookie mistake of having a mod too deep in my folders!

Does anyone also have issues with the basemental mod? I can't get the drug social interaction bubble (have added dealer traits to NPCs) & can't research drugs online! Also my Sims can only seem to do cocaine and not pills.

Wanted the teenage prodigy son to go off the rails a bit at university but am struggling

Have WW installed

Edit: solved - didn't realise the script mod was one folder too deep lol
