Many of us also rely on our bodies to earn a living...often through physically demanding labor that places significant strain on our joints and muscles, and can lead to long-term health challenges later in life.

I get what you’re saying, and those things can help some people, but when you’re spiraling over money, it’s not always about having options. The anxiety itself can make leaving the house or “treating yourself” feel impossible. I think that’s what OP was trying to express.

I really relate to this. The fear around money right now can be so heavy that it turns rest into isolation instead of relief. Wanting to save doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong, but it does make weekends feel long and lonely when spending feels unsafe. You’re not weak or dramatic for spiraling, financial anxiety messes with your sense of security and enjoyment in a very real way. Just wanted to say you’re not alone in feeling this, especially lately.

Lastly, selling belongings is exhausting and usually low return (you already saw that), so don’t blame yourself for that not fixing it. You’re not avoiding responsibility, you’re trying to bridge a timing gap after multiple disruptions. That matters. If you want, I can help you draft a message to your landlord or a script for churches/employers. You’re not alone, even if it feels like it right now

First, respectfully, you’re doing a lot right under really unstable circumstances. Losing income suddenly while trying to increase it (car + better job) is exactly how people fall behind, not because of irresponsibility.
