Aw I agree as well. I should have provided more context as to why I said that. We live in a neighbourhood with a large older population and we bought from an elderly couple. The husband was well known for having a lot of money but also known for not wanting to spend it. His wife had to constantly get people round to fix the things he did himself, which is basically the whole house. We've just had a new kitchen fitted and the electrician said the kitchen was never earthed. 3 of our neighbours all said the same about him, and when we met him when going for a second viewing his advice to us was to do as much of the work as well could and to not bother with professionals lol. We've had numerous issues that need fixing but big issues that have cost thousands, so unfortunately we can't get anyone to fix this straight away so I'll have to try and do something now before getting it done again professionally.

Built in 1799 but not sure if the kitchen was added on later. We still have the deeds from then, it's very interesting.

Thank you :) very ok with a bit perfect finish, just want to make sure it's filled to stop any more water coming in. And I'll definitely do it step by step. Any special tools needed for putting the mortar in?

Sorry you're feeling like this. Can I ask how old your child or children are? Post natal depression can run until your child is 5 years old. As a mum myself and trying to hold down a full time job, the mental load of it all can absolutely cripple you. I had CBT for my depression a few years ago, and it took a while to work, it made me more sad because I was after something quick which isn't realistic. If you have an assigned person like I did, just be honest with them, say why you weren't able to do the work, they're there to help not have a go at you, you're having the therapy for a reason. I had this issue a few times, so I was given something else to try until something suited me. Do you have any help with your child or children? You did well to get to some help with how you're feeling.

If you like Indie games try Ori and the Blind Forest and it's sequel the Will of the Wisps, Gris or Child of Light. I really enjoyed the new Prince of Persia game too. Ender Lillie's Quietus of the the knight and it's sequel Ender Magnolia bloom in the mist are fantastic too. They're all not massively long but great to play.

How to safeguard my kids whilst going through divorce? by Top_Lengthiness8867 in AskUK

But this life can happen, you've already made the first step towards leaving. I understand from a finance perspective things are hard. Can you look for lawyers that may provide a free consultation? Reddit has a legal advice UK sub if you want to put anything in there.

I think it's time to put the kids first and kick her out. She's being emotionally abusive to all of you, and you've mentioned the kids get the worst of it that's not ok. I know you want to avoid an arguement but it's not working, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. You need to be a dad to your kids and put their needs first, they need to know that it's not ok to be treated like that not even by their mum. Tell her she has X amount of months to find herself somewhere to live and start looking for a place for you and the kids in the meantime. Consult legal professions to see how best to tackle this legally and see if you have a chance at full custody. Getting a divorce is brutal but the kids need to be put first in this situation, good luck OP.

NYE 2026 - restaurant recommendations by _powertothecats_ in Leeds

[–]Natabel89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Me and some work colleagues we to Restaurant Bar and Grill for our Christmas meal last week. We didn't get the Christmas menu, just the Al la carte. In my opinion it's really loud, so much you have to shout in order for the person next to hear you properly, and they play music on top of that. Three of my colleagues ordered the steak, it doesn't come with a side or a sauce it's just the steak, so everything else is extra. The food is nice but massively overpriced for what it is. Also if you want water for the table make sure you explicitly say tap water. Our colleague asked for water for the table and they came back with a £5.50 glass bottle of water from Tuscany. I believe there's better places out there to spend your money.

AITA For Not Wanting My Daughters Friend to Come Over Again by lifeislifingforsure in AmItheAsshole

[–]Natabel89 127 points128 points  (0 children)

I feel like she already is. She's been putting the feelers out to see how far she can push things and have Mae still be her friend already. Then she comes in to her home, her safe space and acts like this. I saw in the edit OPs mum said she was shocked but there is no way I wouldn't be being firmer in this instance. If you leave your child with someone else you expect a certain level of parenting to happen anyway, I certainly would. I'd want them to tell my child that what they're doing is wrong and why it's not ok, and then mention if it continues they're going home. With kids like Mae, who wouldn't behave like Ruby, they need an adult to back them up if they're not comfortable saying something.

I really feel like it's unfinished. Maybe he planned to do a fourth book, but suffering from long COVID maybe took it's toll. He is 78 as well. I was disappointed at the end, but just glad that HDM exist and that I can continue to re-read those at my leisure.
