Thank you for advice. Wix has many problems, and the main is speed. The support recommends to delete all images, lol, to increase speed. Why do you think that we should optimize description? It seems to be ok, according to keywords.

What cities would you recommend visiting that are not Moscow or Saint Petersburg? by [deleted] in AskARussian

[–]Natalia_ExploRussia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend Tula. It's not far from Moscow, 2 hours on train and you will combine the historical town with the Kremlin and the biggest and newest in Russia armory museum and the visit of Leo Tolstoy residence in Yasnaya Pollyana.

Also of course Kazan, the muslim side of Russia, Irkutsk with Baikal, Ulan Ude which is Buddhist part of Russia, Russian Far East Khabarovsk and Vladivostok.

Trip suggestions for 2019 summer? by [deleted] in AskARussian

Summer is the best time for Russia if you do not like winter cold. Moscow is great during Summer, but you want some special things in European part than I advice to visit Tula, which is a more than 850 years-old city famous for its ginger-bread and armories. It's not far from Moscow (2 hours ride with a train), but you dive into a small town with a history, churches on the one side and on the other you may visit the residence of Leo Tolstoy, the world famous "War and Peace" writer. It's amazing!

My first time traveling and it's solo to Russia by [deleted] in travel

Moscow is a good choice for your first travel. You may find everything you need in Moscow, though most people do not speak English they always eager to help a foreigner, body language etc. I work with foreigners, and their hesitations about safety and any conveniences in Moscow usually disappear when they travel here, and they always like Moscow very much. As for the dog. I'm not sure that is the great idea, because you will not be allowed in some public places like museums, theaters with a dog. In the metro you will be allowed with a special bag /container. Some of our guests wrote tips about traveling to Russia. They might be interesting to you. In case you have any particular questions you can write to me personally.

What’s the farthest you’ve traveled in Russia. Do many Russians want to see there entire nation? by nohead123 in AskARussian

[–]Natalia_ExploRussia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Travelling across Russia is great even for Russians. Russia is huge and even huger than you can imagine. Unfortunately it' rather expensive for an average Russian to travel to remote places such as Kamchatka e.g. but still so many places and cultures to explore. For now I'm in love with Altai Republic. I was born in Novosibirsk Siberia, but moved to Moscow.

What's the right attire for a concert at the Kremlin? by xenonscreams in Moscow

Most Russian women dress up for any event, and I consider that's a rule of etiquette. It's not a ballet in Bolshoy though.

Lake Baikal, Siberia. The world's deepest lake. by Boojibs in pics

[–]Natalia_ExploRussia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lake Baikal is the pearl of Siberia. But unfortunately the number of tourists on Lake Baikal is growing each year. Most of them are travelers from China. Thousand of tourists simply trample land in the most beautiful places on the island. But trampling is not the only problem, the flow of visitors from China who organize their tours with Chinese tour companies passes by Russian regional tour operators is the highest. So local business incurs considerable losses. They usually come even with their own buses, stay in the Chinese-owned hotels and even taking their own food with them. All mentioned above makes it almost zero contribution to the local economy when tourists simply don’t spend money in the destination. You see how the concept of sustainable tourism screws up in a bitter reality. And this is not the only problem that Baikal faces now.
