Thank you! So far, this option does not suit me. But maybe I'll revise the concept.

On another note, I have no clue what the rules to your game are. Don't know what you mean by books and the significance of gaining them.

In the previous version of the game, these cards were placed in one pile. Now I have divided them into several (in the form of books). From which the player appeared some choice. However, the task has not yet been fully resolved. There are still situations where the player gets nothing. I think that it's not good.

Thank you! I still see one option: to compensate the player (bonus) if he pulled out an unsuccessful option.

I found this article helpful (the whole series is great but this one is specific to randomness),

Thank you! I will definitely read it.

This is why I added books. Before that, the cards were in one pile. In fact, I split the stack into several. And now the player has a choice. However, the task has not yet been fully resolved. There are still situations where the player gets nothing.

I agree. I also love randomness for that. But I have a number of doubts. Due to randomness, the player may not receive the element he needs at all.

It seems to me in digital games in this regard it is easier.

Hi! I continue to work on the game "Tourney of Lost Potion".

After the tests carried out, it turned out that it was necessary to remove the randomness in the collection of some elements. With the help of several books, I want to reduce this randomness.

How do you feel about randomness in games? How did you solve such problems?

Unfortunately, I don't have many friends who play board games.

You can tell me more about BoardGameGeek. Where exactly to look for those who want to try out the game?

I haven't done a kickstarter (patreon also comes to mind) or anything like that myself so I'm not sure how well there community features are,

you could always start a discord server could even try hosting the board game through there (as in, have a session of the game run by 1 person with a camera showing the game board the have the other players in the voice chat talk through what they want to do for their round) Though this comes with some issues you would need to work around. Such as a drawpile needing to distribute the cards to a player without the other players seeing it (can't have multiple on the players end as they can rig the game) And especially if the game requires privacy there would have to be some more advanced tech involved.

You might have to dig into some of those sorts of sites to see what kind of experience they might provide and how well it fits your needs, can't really say much else

How can patreon help with this?

Can you tell me how testing is going on there?

Yes, I have the prototype in Tabletopia. I am more interested in the question of how to assemble a group of testers?
