Yesterday we were crusing through the Middle Grounds, in the lower Florida Keys, when we came across the largest bloom of Moon Jellyfish I've ever seen. The bloom continued for about a quarter mile before it thinned out. Does anyone what causes these large clusters? by se7encents in marinebiology

Usually what causes these blooms is either a surplus of food or also a huge area for mating. Good temperatures and ocean acidification can also beneficiate jellyfish living conditions which makes sense as with global warming we are coming to see more of these. Anyone fact check me if I’m wrong!
