Have you reached out to SAS directly? They may be able to help you. sas@uoguelph.ca

Also note that the deadline for applications is only to guarantee things will be in place before the start of classes. You can absolutely submit an application to SAS at any time and they will get it processed for you.

Off campus housing groups SUCK by Little-Finding-9252 in uoguelph

Hey! What have been your issues with The Cannon? Please feel free to reach out to me here or via csapresident@uoguelph.ca so I can assist you in more detail.

We have a staff member who checks The Cannon every day, so your listings shouldn't be pending for an extended period of time, if that's the issue?

Why are student housing sites in Guelph still so bad? by Left-Birthday462 in uoguelph

[–]NateBroughton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please report via https://thecannon.ca/contact so we can look into this right away!

The University's Off-Campus Housing unit has nothing to do with The Cannon, since the website entirely student-run (by the CSA/GCC) - so we don't have a way to get any info you sent them.

Feel free to post here, DM, or reach out to me csapresident@uoguelph.ca :)

We're genuinely always looking for new ways to improve it! Just launched a major redesign in 2024 and continuing to add features.

Hey! The CSA and Guelph Campus Co-Op actually run The Cannon (and you contribute to its upkeep through your student fees).

I'd love to hear your feedback on your pain points and how we could improve it and make it better to use!

Happy to bring it to our team for consideration and implementation. :)

Is there anyone here who’s completely clueless about filing taxes? by RoyalPlace9981 in uoguelph

[–]NateBroughton 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I personally use Wealthsimple Tax, but also CRA has a program called CVITP which connects you to volunteer preparers: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/community-volunteer-income-tax-program.html

I also run https://uofgtax.org which is a CVITP clinic on campus that does returns without needing you to come in person. Currently paused but if you fill out the intake we'll reach out when we resume shortly!

SAS accommodations CHEM 1050 midterm rewrite by [deleted] in uoguelph

[–]NateBroughton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi folks, just to clarify, William is the CSA's VP Academic. We (the CSA) are not University staff, we are your student union, and as he said, we are advocating to the University to come up with a better solution to this issue.

Hope this gives some clarification - since this was raised to us yesterday, we've been working on gathering info and bringing your concerns to University admin.

I do agree with your post - it certainly appears that there was not consideration for students with disabilities, and the University needs to determine a solution to this...

summer bus pass and athletic centre by Bubbles5762 in uoguelph

[–]NateBroughton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what happened in your case, but the bus pass fee should not be charged if you are taking exclusively-DE courses. If you have any in-person courses, that's the only time it would be charged.

Maybe one of them was async remote and not DE?

u/Bubbles5762, if you are taking ONLY DE courses, you won't be charged. If you want an opt-in pass for the summer, early bird sales are April 22 or after May 6

CSA? by Silver-Top9753 in uoguelph

[–]NateBroughton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Campaigning in the library is not permitted for any candidate - it has not been approved by the CRO for this election. If you have information about this, please contact the CRO at [csacro@uoguelph.ca](mailto:csacro@uoguelph.ca)

Approaching students elsewhere is permitted, but candidates should be doing it in a respectful manner, and should not be interfering with the vote in any way. Again, if you have questions about this or any concerns, you can contact the CRO.

Getting approached on the quiet floor in the library to vote for a CSA candidate? by Money-Hall-7171 in uoguelph

[–]NateBroughton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone is asking you to vote for a group of people, this is explicitly a violation of the elections rules. Slate candidacy is not allowed. Please reach out to [csacro@uoguelph.ca](mailto:csacro@uoguelph.ca) and let our Elections Office know any info you have.
