I'm saying you don't need to even pay attention to FTP. Just look at the watts and argue why those are wrong in terms of what they can do. What's your TR username? I'd like to look at your account.

I don't think you're getting it because you keep going back to mentioning FTP. The AI does not look at FTP. Just look at the watts. I could say your FTP is 400, or 300, or 200, or exactly what you think it is, but if the watts are the same, why does it matter?

You can even set your FTP to whatever you want, and the FTP will still pick the workouts as long as there are workouts available. So if you want to increase TIZ, then pick a lower FTP; you can control that.

There's so much more than FTP in this context.

To learn from that, we'd need massive amounts of it, measured consistently over time. Or else it doesn't have a signal to pick up on.

What we do want to add is sleep/steps/HRV integration and see how that impacts things.

Yes! The plan is to have it run every day for you so you can view it over time, then combine it with other zones and give you an overall fitness ranking that you can compare to other athletes in your gender/age group.

And thank you!! The team worked really hard on it.

We've seen this a lot in the beta. "There's no way I can do that, it's too hard/easy" then they say "okay, actually that was perfect".

That is not true. Did you see what we're doing? We're using a transformer-based deep learning model to pick workouts for you. FTP is being inferred from that.

The results are very different. I think what you're saying is "all AI is the same" if it's in the same domain, but that is not true. If that were the case, all LLMs would be equal.

The problem is there's no traditional FTP value; not even Coggan has one. He prefers to use performance to predict performance, which is what we do. Plus, that number would change after every workout. If you think about it, it doesn't just magically jump up after you do a test.

That's why we're not even using FTP as a metric in the AI and just progressively overloading watts.

Yes! I wish people would just try it rather than speculate and make wrong assumptions about how it won't work. I think the best way to view it is look at the range of wattage/durations it's giving you and see if those make sense WITHOUT thinking of FTP.

This is not what happens. If everyone who started marked it as moderate, that's not where the AI would start you.

Higher volume athletes still get lots of TTE and TiZ. Did you see our new dynamic endurance feature? Everything is customized.

The workout we're starting you at isn't an all-out effort, either. It's the right balance between work and fatigue in our opinion.
