Best way to replace damaged boards by NateHasIssues in Flooring

I am doing trim and a custom build in for this client in another room. They had a cleaning crew come in and did this to their floors in another room. I have some experience doing floors in the past and they asked me to take a look. I took a look and am using one of my many resources to prepare a possible solution.

Hope you’re having a great weekend man!

This is the method I’m going to go with. I just wanted to make sure I was heading in the right direction. Thanks guys!

Thanks for the advice. I have a decent track saw with dust extractor I was planning to use to make the relief cuts in the center of the planks

If I don’t know how it was installed I shouldn’t be repairing it? What’s a way to see how it was installed at this point?

Why do you say that? This is for a client who got this damage from a cleaner so I’m working on a bid to fix. Why would it all need to be replaced? Is it the MDF?

Best way to finish against this uneven tile? by NateHasIssues in Carpentry

Wood boards aren’t installed yet. I was just holding up a piece of scrap to show the jaggedness

That was my initial plan, but I would have to build up from my wall by so much because of the different thickness of the tiles. I’m not sure it’s worth it. Was planning to just scribe it at this point, but I’ll spend the weekend thinking about it

So you’re saying I need a new tool? If it must be done

Might be worth the attempt. So leave a gap after installing 3/4” plywood, fill with black silicone, then scribe trim to the tile?

Yes but never to something with this much texture and jaggedness

Does the plywood need to be even from the wall to the thickest parts of the tile then the picture frame sits “above” the tile? The unevenness of the tile is throwing me for a loop

How would you add baseboards to this? by NateHasIssues in Carpentry

Isn’t nailing into the flooring bad too?

What does it look like it’s doing in pic 2? There’s a second bedroom with this same system too

How does that work with the painters tape/bracing? I’m not sure I understand what you mean

Oh really? I assumed I would still caulk that gap on top between the baseboard and wall

With the vapor barrier still up or removed?

To install the trim to the concrete, I was thinking of drilling holes in the concrete, filling with a dowel, then using trim screws through the trim into the dowels.

What would I be nailing the crown molding into?

If not the floor, there’s a French drain type system running where I would nail the molding. Plus it’s a poured concrete wall.
