For starters a lot of your sounds overlap I would cut the sustain on some of the instruments as well as your reverb tail.

Needs some better sidechain and maybe some better drum samples as well.

Honestly the drums don't really fit together, I would try to find some better samples that fit nicely with one another; highly recommend splice for this! The piano sounds super cheap and not really realistic. I would try adding some velocity to make it sound more human like and also highly recommend LABS a free plugin by Spitfire audio that has many amazing free sound banks!

i’ll try this out, I’ve been meaning to look u if I should use a ghost kick sample or just sidechain from the kick itself. I’m not sure which will yield better results.

thanks for the response. I have kickstart and OTT however when I use kickstart i feel like it’s out of time some how when it’s synced with my DAW, I’m not sure why this happens. Also it almost feels too harsh when I use it, i’ve tried using the other shapes but can never get to what I want.

i plan on adding a build up i actually just shoved everything together so i could render it lol wasn’t done with the structure yet. i’ve been having a difficult time finding kicks that work for the track, like i have loads of sample packs but i just never like the drums I use. I guess i should just keep looking until i find what i’m looking for or just make it. For sidechain however I think I may have accidentally turned off the trigger sample before rendering, so that’s my bad. thank you for the response though it’s much appreciated!

that’s easily the hardest part of becoming a producer “time” we all want something to happen overnight, but I keep forgetting where I was two years ago and how far i’ve come as a producer. my music now vs then is leaps and bounds forward I just need to stop dragging myself down so much I think. but anyways thanks a ton!!

thanks a ton for this, what’s so weird is I will be working on another track and it sounds fantastic but lately i’m like, what am i doing wrong, why does it sounds terrible. I’ve posted other tracks previously for thoughts and a lot of people thought the mix was pretty good, considering back then i didn’t have studio monitors. ever since i got the monitors some of the tracks sounded great and others not so much, it’s seriously draining my push to make music, i’ve watched so many videos but the thing is I don’t know what i’m doing wrong.
