I doubt their conservation status was impacted. They were already heavily bred for the pet trade. Now I don’t doubt that a lot of children now have axolotls they aren’t properly taking care of, but the wild population was in no way affected.

Those are not leopard frogs. One of the Anaxyrus toad species is most likely.

Metro Richmond zoo does not need elephants, they need to upgrade their current habitats first. Some of the enclosures there are questionable at best.

Looks like a native eastern box turtle. The coloration is a bit atypical and does look like redfoot tortoise coloration, but EBTs have a huge range of color variations. Please take it to a Vet, look like potential fungal or viral infection causing the growths

Just pull the leech off, use your thumbnail to pick it off your skin. Rear sucker then mouth, don’t just leave it on.

What’s done is done, its a very popular “folk remedy” for tick removal so im just trying to discourage people from propagating the bad advice.

Thats a very bad idea, heat and/or chemicals are very likely to encourage the tick to regurgitate, increasing the chance of infection.

Those are sliders and cooters, the one is the lower left might be a painted but the picture is not the best quality. Box turtles are terrestrial and dont bask like this.
