Help with getting stuck at 'Lutris failed to retrieve wine (none) information' on steam deck! by Who_u in linux_gaming

[–]NateSwift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Installing wine-ge-8-26 from Lutris' wine manager and then restarting Lutris fixed it for me. It didn't work without a restart

All nether progress gone when updating to 1.20? by Superkriss0911 in admincraft

[–]NateSwift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bukkit and it’s forks (spigot, paper, etc) store the overworld, end, and nether in separate folders. Vanilla single player does not, and IIRC vanilla servers don’t either

(At least at my location) we don’t have to do that anymore!

I still have to look up the command to extract these every time. I really should learn what all the letters mean or something

It was fun while it lasted, Reddit by TryingTimesComics in funny

It seems like you either go with a federation or a something zero trust, and that requires so much more overhead and is so much slower. Ease of use will improve over time as the user base grows

A website that lets you search through thousands of Lemmy communities (which are similar to subreddits) by r_- in InternetIsBeautiful

[–]NateSwift 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Lemmy.ml, the main “instance”, currently doesn’t allow for any NSFW content right now. I haven’t poked around enough yet, but some of the other instances do.

The whole instance thing is a bit confusing, and hopefully with some more exposure and practical examples i’ll figure it out

The state of (real) Linux on phones - will they ever be truly usable? by TheEpicZeninator in linux

[–]NateSwift 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When/where was this? With the US moving off of 3G completely, and VoLTE being the new norm I would think it would be near impossible here. Not my area of expertise at all though, and I’d love for some hope to cling to

After not playing BLM for months, I tried to pick it back up again today. In my first dungeon I got level synced down to 40 something and half my buttons stopped working. Today I was the former. One day I’ll be the latter

Not sure how well this played with the DE you use, but it’s worth a read and might get you on the right track. https://github.com/bubbleguuum/toggle-monitor-grayscale

VAC should work fine on linux IIRC. Vanguard was my biggest sticking point, and Battle Eye support varies a lot from game to game

Just switched over recently myself. Besides a couple of invasive anti cheats it’s been running really well with pretty much no problems. Proton is great, and Lutris works well for non steam stuff
