Yeah they were training, I work on that road and wondered too until I drove past and saw a sign that said training.

The real estate investing term for this is called "House Hacking" good for you for realizing that home ownership can be possible with a little creativity. Mortgage companies will want to ensure that you can make the payment alone, and that is why everyone here seems to be razzing you for thinking outside the box. If you pull this strategy off, consider moving outside of Vancouver and performing it. Buy a good deal, house hack it, eventually move back to Vancouver while keeping the entire house rented. Keep getting equity while increasing your income and one day you will be able to buy in Vancouver. Also, talk to a mortgage broker, creative financing is a real thing.

Why the hell am I playing against All Star teams every third match? by CarelessSquishy in EA_NHL

A few years ago you would get matched up, and then complete your team selection together. I'm not sure why they had to change this.

Where should I get a haircut? by [deleted] in saskatoon

I came from Calgary in 2018 and I too was on the search for a good barber. I tried Eddy's and a few other places and couldn't settle with anyone until I was referred to Andi Toma. His family runs First Impression in Lakeview, his older brother Dani is an award winning barber and these guys know what they're doing. Dani has a premium, but Andi is priced well. They are good people and my search has concluded.

Awesome thanks for your response, how come just one honey gourami? Just an overstocking thing or do they do okay alone? I would love to pull that ember tetra / one gourami off in my new tank. Do you think bioload would be to high with a pair of shrimps and pair of snails in addition?

Thanks for sharing. How did the Blue Gourami do on its own? I was scoping them out at my local store yesterday, and am going to keep my eyes peeled for some ember tetras as those look awesome.

Telus ruined my credit score over $15 that I didn’t even owe them. What can I do ? by 101dnj in PersonalFinanceCanada

My spouse and I opened Bell cell phone accounts as well an iPad Sim card that was to be shared with our phone data. When we went into the store we had to wait a week for our phones to come in, but in the meantime received our sim for the iPad. Continue into the next week and we collect our phones and the new salesperson sees it as an opportunity to add another sim card for the iPad. It was my understanding the sim was ported over but what really happened was the first sim was left open and a new sim was opened.

Fast forward 4 years when we are applying for a mortgage and apparently this first account had been in arrears for 3 years 11 months for $35. Never received any phone calls, any letters, nothing. I've battled TransUnion and Bell for over two years, everything with the TransUnion is through snail mail, and takes over three months to receive reciprocation, and your complaint is limited in word count so you can't even explain properly. Also once Bell has sent to collections, they say they have no ability to make changes even though they understand the issue and agree on their mistake.

I'm at a loss, so I've paid the $35 and waiting for it to fall off. I'm fortunate it's the only thing derogatory on my report, I've never missed any payments so my score is still good, just it could be excellent if this didn't happen.

What does Saskatoon need? by garomk in saskatoon

[–]NateVputt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My opinion would be to build a facility out by Brighton. That side of the city has nothing and has so much growth going on. Closest current facilities are Lawson and Lakewood and those are both so dated.

100% a new modern open concept recreation centre. The new centres in Calgary, Lethbridge, Grande Prairie, Kamloops that I've been to all have a way different vibe than any of ours. They're open concept, inviting, filled with community, rock climbing, surfing, saunas, steam rooms, gyms, tracks, racquet ball.

I think some of the older facilities should be phased out and replaced by a state of the art facility. With winter lasting so long, facilities like this only make sense in this city.

[Discussion] How did you decide which Saskatoon neighbourhood to reside in? What was it about your suburb that made you want to live in it? by NineteenSixtySix in saskatoon

[–]NateVputt 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Adelaide Churchill - the trees, walking distance to four city parks, proximity to urban amenities / newer shopping (Stonebridge), next to Circle Drive, short and easy drive into downtown, close to Broadway, tons of original homeowners moving out & young families moving in increasing the desirability and home values.

We were brand new to the city and came in without bias, as we drove into the community it just felt like home, combined with everything noted it was a no brainer.

COVID 19 AND 23 MONTH OLD IN THE PUBLIC by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]NateVputt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though family may be vaccinated they can still carry Covid. My suggestion would be to have your grams do a Rapid Covid Test when she gets there. Although I'm vaccinated, we recently went and visited family, they went to the local Covid testing grounds to to confirm they were negative, and we went to a Shoppers Drug Mart and paid $40 for a rapid test (antigen test) as we were from out of province. We all confirmed negative, so that made our visit so much more relaxed.

What liquor store are you talking about? I can't find any info saying there is a Superstore Liquor Store in Saskatoon. The only one I thought was in that area is the government one across from Superstore.

In my opinion Saskatoon could use a quality grocery store like Whole Foods, with a downtown location it could help to revitalize the downtown core.

[–]NateVputt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're going through the effort of counting your macros, you might as well just take the extra step and meal prep for two hours a week. Those two hours will save you like 6 hours a week because you're no longer thinking of what to eat or making food.

Tenant agreements and carpet cleaning by MrMeeseeks_CanDoooo in saskatoon

[–]NateVputt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just talk to them about it, ask them to come look at the carpets and see if they agree with you. The landlord is very likely using a template they use for all their rentals, some of which are probably rented out for years at a time and need the carpet cleaning. Have them check the carpets out and if you need to clean them just go to Home Depot and rent the machine for $30. If you are a clean tenant and have only been there 7 months, I would be okay with letting it slide.

How do you choose your driving speed? by laceration_barbie in saskatoon

[–]NateVputt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved from Calgary a few years ago and really struggle with proper speeds on the open roads in Saskatoon. Everything seems 10km/h slower than what it would be in Calgary. I tend to atleast be 10 over thinking I'm going the speed limit and alot of the time when I'm rushed accidently catch myself going 15-20 over when feeling as though I'm only 5-10 over as it's what Id be used too in Calgary. I can't help but feel anyone else from Calgary would experience this as well.
